  1. Thanks Ashley.

In the Link software it shows as ig3 being setup for tach. I am running the early Link ignitor that doesn't have a tach output on it so I have to drive it from the ecu.

I will get an led test light and see if the Link is outputting a signal.

The gauge cluster has a pot on the rev counter section which allows you to adjust it to match the required revs.

    Cheers

    Matt.

  2. I have an LN130 Surf with a 1UZFE. The gauge cluster rev counter for the diesel is incompatible apparently so I got a 4cyl and a V6 efi gauge clusters.

I have run the blue with white wire and cut the black tach wire from the gauge wiring but can't get either tach to work.

I have the factory wiring diagram and it showed my which connector and wire was the tach feed. Everything else still appears to work.

Obviously it has to be the wrong wire - anyone have Hilux/Surf experience on here?

    Cheers

    Matt.

  3. Thanks Simon.

Would upgrading to the V5 code give me any benefits like Crank Decay?

When the motor starts from cold it runs like it's running rich and you can smell the fuel, does this for about 20-30 seconds then it's fine.

As the tuning takes a while as you need to let the cool right down again I was hoping someone would have a value I could get closer to.

    Cheers

    Matt.

  4. I have a 1UZFE which runs very well, was dyno tuned and goes great.

The only problem is the cold start configuration. Currently it's set to the following values :-

    Clamp 32

    Cold Start 23

    Crank Enrich 43

    Volts Correction 15

It starts easily but runs rough for about 20-30 seconds after starting. As it's time consuming to alter these values and test due to the time taken for the motor to cool down again can anyone make any recommendations on these values?

Using the online help it would seem that it's the Crank Enrich value that is wrong. The help says the base value is 70 and a smaller number means greater enrichment. It also says to refer to Crank Decay which isn't a visible setting on my screen.

    Cheers

    Matt.

  5. Thanks Ashley, excellent service.

That's weird about the adaptor, I have been using it fine for a couple of years with no problems. Can you guys recommend a model or advise the one you used to test it?

    Cheers

  6. Ashley, I haven't included a contact sheet or anything when I shipped my ecu and cables to you. It has my return shipping info on the package but nothing else. It's the LEM with serial link and usb to serial cable. The cable is a Dick Smith adapter, drivers can be found on their website.

  7. Thanks for your reply Ashley.

I don't have anyway of knowing if it's a fault with the SerialLink, it's a brand new module just shipped to me by you guys so I would have thought it would be okay.

I am not using an extension cables or anything, my USB to Serial cable which works fine on other serial applications, connects directly to the SerialLink box which then runs back via the supplied ribbon cable to the ECU.

Yes in PCLink I have selected Com4 which is the Com port that the USB adaptor has created and which works okay with a console application.

    Cheers

    Matt.

  8. Can anyone recommend a USB to serial converter that works with PCLink 2.5 and is available in NZ?

I have a functioning converter that I can use for serial comms to my router with no problems but I cannot get it connect to the ECU no matter what I do.

The ECU I have is a D42V4 280504 Link with sub board 1UZFE D24V4 030804 which I assume is a V4 so should be able to be PC tuned.

    Cheers

    Matt.

  9. Thanks Ashley, it's an original LEM so I take there is no input provision?

The compressor will have an oiler fitted on the intake side to prevent it from seizing and a trap on the other side to take it out again.

    Cheers

    Matt.
