  1. Thanks for that i will have to try it out and see. More Questions Can the ignition drives be used to power other things ? Like Check engine light ? and Tacho ? Im running out of Aux outputs Would you know if the supra has a low level tacho ?
  2. Thanks for the answers.' Could you just clarify 5 please for me. Ive taken most of the pin outs from here http://www.vi-pec.com/original-pages-not-needed/toyotasupravvt-i-v88-adpt.pdf I see they have noted the following C9 Ignition Switch - (Linked to C10) C10 Main EFI relay -ve - (Linked to C9) So this is bypassing the link right ? And the efi relay would be active as soon as ignition is turned on ? If this is not correct should i be wiring the ignition switch to an input and then switch the main efi relay from an output of the link ecu ? Oh and a 7th question please 7. Are there any settings you have or recommend we use for the throttle sensor as my supra is the later model with drive by wire setup. Thanks alot
  3. Ok so just to clarify Dont need to worry about the -side as there is no pin for -ve of the cam sensor. The Crank sensor though will be grounded to rest of sensors on the link ecu.
  4. Hi again Also forgot to ask 3. what is the recommended thickness of cable for wiring grounds for all my coils (using sequential fire) ? 4. Wiring in a LC-1 should be to output2 from the lc1 right ? Is it suggested to put a fuse in line before the lc1 or power it from the same ignition supply as the link ecu ? 5. . Do main efi relay output and ignition switch output from the standard wiring get connected to the link ? 6. How does it know when the engine is cranking etc ? thanks Shamil
  5. Hi there Im using a full length standard loom and connecting that to the end of the existing factory car loom. Im doing this in order to keep the factory loom intact (using an adapter board). Im keeping it full length so that later i can use the full loom length to custom make a complete loom from scratch. I wanted to know 2 things. 1. Would there be an issue with loss of signla strength from some sensors ? 2. For the sensors for cam angle and crank angle that have a shielded wire, where should i be grounding the cable from A7 (shield) I asked q2 here in another thread someone else started as well. thanks Shamil
  6. I got a question for exactly the same application, there isnt a shield pin on the ecu, i noticed on the crank angle sensor there is a grounding at the base (which i assume is for the shielding), but on the cam angle sensor it is not done the same way (may be done internally ?). Also the crank shaft trigger (sensor i assume) has a +ve and -ve pin. Should we be connecting the -ve pin as i see on the g4 it doesnt have a -ve specifically for any of the triggers ? Thanks
  7. Hi Scott Thanks a lot for your response. Turns out the VVTI is controller from the crank and cam sensors. So it is just an outpput solenoid that controls the vvti. I was told to have the +ve side connected to 12+ switched supply all the time and have the -ve side going to an aux output from the ecu. Why are some sensors earthed to the block and not others, eg AFM, crankshaft signal, I want to run the engine check light but i was thinking it would show up any issues like if i have oil pressure and temp and if the temp gets too high etc. Does it matter out of water and air temp which is which number ? I assume you can assign it in the ecu ? Temp 1 and Temp 2 thanks Shams
  8. Hi guys Just figuring out a few things with regards to wiring my 2jz motor to a silver xtreme ecu. VVTI 1. The factory ecu wiring diag says there is only one solenoid and says nothing about a sensor. Wondering if my diagram is wrong and there should be an input or thats how the 2jz is (no vvti sensor) 2. If there is a vvti sensor please let me know if only one and should be a digital hookup eg DI1 terminal etc. 3. Then hooking up to vvti solenoid is just the positive and the negative is tothe general ground for sensors ? 4. I assume from the Link wiring instructions LH and RH in reference to VVTi sensors is left hand and right hand ? Other less important Qs 5. On my 2jz Wiring it has Throttle Pos Sensor Main and Throttle Pos Sensor Sub, whats the difference ? 6. Do i need to run an O2 sensor ? 7. Grounding sensors are all done straight to the sensor itself, grounding the ecu is done to block ? So 2 wires from both wiring looms A and B. 8. On my 2jz wiring diagram next to MAp sensor it has in brackets (to PM1), any idea what that means ? Ok last question, what are theseƂ and are they required for me to run the car ? 9. Accel Sensor PPS main 10. Accel Sensor PPS sub 11. AC Signal from AC Amplifier 12. Starter Signal Thanks in advance. Shams
  9. Is it possible to adapt this to a vvti setup ? If so what is required to make the change ?
