  1. Engine cooling fan - running continuously. I think we might have looked at this before but the green car has been brought back to life and we have a link pnp in it with basically the same set up as the red car. The green (blue) car is a pre face lift model and the red car a face lift model.

As mentioned the problem is the engine cooling fan running continuously and I think this might have to do with the air conditioning pressure sensor being removed and in a standard car the default is turn the high speed fan on.

in the ecu set up currently I have An volt 9 turned off.

May this stage I have just dumped the red cars program into the ecu of the green (blue car) car

fyi in the red car (facelift) fan works as expected.

I think I gave up before and out a manual switch in but this time I’d like to resolve through ecu

any help on this one would be appreciated.

Im pretty sure I have tested that for someone else before and found it was a bug in the Aim software.  I think it was solved by setting the ecu type in the dash software to "Vipec - CAN_BUS_BASE_LCC" instead of Link***

Try that and let me know if it doesnt work.  We do have one of those dashes in house that I can test if required.

Thanks for such a quick response and info.

I’ll look at it when next at the car.

    again cheers

  3. Hi

I’ve got my ECU connected to the MXL Pista dash and it reads temp, TPS, wide band etc but neither of the pressure sensor I have running to ECU are coming thru on the Can.

I know the pressure sensors are working on the ECU as I can see them and also see them change values but if I set up on the dash I only see OILP and FUEP and no values.

    Any help is appreciated.

    cheers.

  4. I'm back and since the green car was totaled at Philip Island earlier in the year the Link ECU has been sitting in a box.

Re-shelling at moment and thinking about a new dash and the first and easiest choice is a AIM / LINK MXS or MXP running off the canbus but my other Mini runs Motec ECu with a C125 dash, so wondering if a C125 can receive info from the Iink via Canbus like the AIMs?

    Cheers

  5. PWM for electric water pump.

Ok, thinking of changing the electric water pump from an ON all the time to a PWM set up so I can control water temp with a solid state relay, rather an taping the front of the car off.

Rather than wiring in something new I was thinking of utilising some of the obsolete OEM wiring and relays with the ECU i.e. air conditioning clutch control.

I have seen SSR direct replacements for standard relays and was thinking of putting on of these in the fuse box for the air con clutch , finding the wiring that use to go to the air con compress and wire into my water pump.

    Logical, feasible?

    Cheers

  6. Hey Adam

Ok, I do not see all your requested items to log under E-Throttle 1

I have the following listed under E-Throttle 1 (Thorttle Postion Sensor

    E Throttle Target 1

    E- Throttle 1 Motor DC

    E-Throttle 1 ISC Offset

    E-Throttle 1 Base Target

    E-Throttle 1 Active Table

    E-Throttle ISC CL Trim

    Gear Shift Throttle Target

Should I be looking somewhere else for you logging paramaters?

  7. Thanks Adam, funny as it hasnt shown this problem for mkst the year  if a set up

Just been on the dyno and obviously didnt see anything there and can drive in car park but the moment i set tyres on the track  BAMMMM limp mode  lol

I can run the car in the workshop and even run in gear on stands for logs if you like

    Ill look at it tomorrow

    Cheers

  8. Wasted a day at the track with constant TPS fault 75

Tried to calibrate, didnt make any difference

Tried to simulate in the car park but could get it to fault, so murphys law it happens within 200 metre of going on track

No full throttle at by this stage on track, more like a constant 25% with light application with cold slicks.

I had this ince before at sandown but it ssems to clear itself eventually, plus i could reset without PC. Power off - on  but not this time

    Any ideas?

Thinking of changing tnrottle body but wanted to confirm this fault is totally related to throttle bodyy blade and sensors within?

    Cheers

  9.

Just putting a new fuel system in and this will include a FlexFuel Sensor, so presuming this will require a digital input on the expansion cable?

Is this the Mini Harrop used for some development on the Harrop TVS900 SC conversion?

    Yes

  10. Hey Adam

fyi does it from cold start now also, so not sure if that makes a difference.

Is this his base position something that can change on its own?

the log is required while running?

just reluctant to stat and moment as 4,000 RPM warm up idle is not ideal but if it has to be done then it has to be done.

  11. Ok, car has been going good but have come across a problem I am not sure if it is ECU related more a mechanical issue.

So all of a sudden the car will not idle below 2,000 RPM when warmed up. Prior when cold it might have been a little erratic and idle high with some hunting but still below 2,000 RPM. Had the thought it might be a vacuum leak and this may still be the case but now the care goes straight to 4,000 RPM or more, I turned it off before causing myself more troubles.

As I say it could still be a vacuum leak but wondering if anything in the ECU / tune could cause this sort of problem?

I can confirm the DBW throttle plate is closed, as I removed the feed pipe to check.

Anyhow, if you have any ideas if the ECU / Tune could be doing this it would be appreciated.

I will pull things down to look for leaks, as it is difficult to fault find with an engine at 4,000 RPM.

Oh, the car drives on the track ok. It is not like a stuck throttle.

    Cheers

  12. Ok cars running pretty well, 201 atwkw and only 14 psi

Track only car and since new engine with new tune i have quite a hestication on gear change, transition off and on throttle

Understand this is accel pump where it goes super rich when i jump back on the gas

Looking for ideas to try to fix this while at track as this problem cannot be solved on hub dyno

    Cheers
