  1. So, the car does normally start. It's on E85, but I can't get it to start. The last time it started very briefly and I shut it off...was a bit rough so turn it off and start it again and it all runs as normal.(this was a month ago I guess)..only now I cant get it to run again at all. Just curious to know if the attached should show if the injectors are firing? AF1,2,3,4?, fuel pump changes to on when starting...not sure if the rest would change status..?

    Cheers

  2. Thanks, if that’s the case I’m stoked.

I tried to add a photo but it’s too large..but when I was trying to get the car started..stupid e85 (when it’s cold just doesn’t happen) but I recall seeing at the last race meeting when I had the laptop connected seeing AN 7&8 fluctuating when on and off the gas..mean anything, assuming it’s the 2x 02 sensors. It’s says NB Oxy (V) 0.03 and NB Oxy 2 (V)0.02.  I couldn’t get the car to start but have seen the numbers fluctuate

  3. Into the factory wiring…I have now just seen I can buy a 90deg adaptor for the 02 sensor which could help but if it can be deleted even better?

  4. Question:

The car has a tune, it doesn’t have any cats etc but it does have 2 sensors in the exhaust. I have just had to replace this section of the exhaust with a new one at the section, where the secondary sensor screws in it’s too long and is hard against the body of the car. The new exhaust came with blanking caps to delete the sensor…can I turn this sensor off and cap it or just keep it unplugged and blanked?

    Thanks in  advance

This photos doesn't show some of the things Adam said to log but it does appear to have a scroll bar so those might be just offscreen.

everything above the scroll was just default stuff maybe?...but from the log that I attached can you tell if what I have under logged parameter's in that pic are they actually in the log it self that you looked at?...if that makes sense

That log only has TP Main, doesn't have TP Sub TP Error Accumulator, An 5, An 6 or most of the other runtimes from Adam's example setup.

I will give it another go tomorrow, I had moved across everything it would allow me to under E throttle if you see my photo above...will see where to find what's missing

To clarify when the car is running the ecu will automatically log? and when it does it auto saves with a time stamp...?

    Sorry to be a pain!

  7. Thanks,  so if i go logging> set up logging > and add everything under electronic throttle, this should be all?...not entirely sure which stuff i should be logging in general anyway

In the throttle body there are two independent throttle position sensors (we call them TP main and TP sub), there is two so they can be compared to each other, if they ever read differently then ecu knows there is a problem.

Fault code 76 means the readings from the two sensors arent matching each other (there is about 2% error allowed). So this could be just a calibration issue, it could be a failing sensor (need to replace the whole throttle body), or it could be a loose connection/wiring issue.

Have you got any logs?  If not can you give us one with just a few free revs in the garage.  And a copy of your tune.

Whoops thought I had sent this yesterday....Thanks Adam, I have just down loaded the tune, also not sure if logging had ever been set up so I have just given that a go too...hope I have done it right. The car is a bit too loud to rev up on a sunday but I can try again today if i havent done it right

  9. So I just replaced the throttle unit for good measure, took it out and can hear something rattle inside so safe to say it was poked. Was going through the throttle setup, throttle will go to 100% but instead of resting at 0% it sits at 7.3%...what do I do to get this to 0?..I'm a bit lost. I dont want to run the car until throttle is at 0% I guess ?

  10. Had a big weekend of racing at Hampton downs and randomly lost all power 8 mins into an endurance race, eml and check engine light come on. Plugged in the lap top to clear any faults using ivts, still no good, then for the first time ever I actually saw faults come up at the top of the screen ( never knew where or how to find any stored codes etc) Faults codes 69 & 75. Is this any easy remedy and also what could have caused the issue?? I am by no means clued up on the tuning side but I do recall setting up the throttle position stuff when the ecu come back from a repair all be it with the help of team viewer at the support team

So you have an i series Vipec?  It will work out of the box.  If you have a v series then it will still work - the only proviso is you will need to be on firmware 4.9.9 or later

(EDIT)I believe so, i88 for mini r53...been ages since I have plugged into the ecu, (over 18 months) but have a race meeting next weekend so the app might work a treat to have a go with. I did try with out connecting the lap top but looks like the settings need to be changed as you said in your pdf.

I did just change the settings as per your pdf but it says that Vipec ecu is not supported?

  12. Ok, I also have no clutch switch or hand brake switch ( had the clutch master out yesterday..it had no switch on it). The car did have race ABS unit which has since been removed before my ownership so will still have the ABS wheel sensors I think from memory.

  13. Just wondering how the launch control function works on the mini, I had seen the setting in the ecu and thought it might be handy in my mini challenge race car...my car has no ABS which means no t/c either. The one main thing I want to know is how does the car know when to go into launch and when not to?
