AIM dash connection query

I have a VIPEC V88 ECU which carries serial #3266 on a paper tag on the outside. I have registered for this forum using that number, so i assume it is correct??.

I have downloaded the manual for the AIM dash, and it says it requires ECU serial number is to be 10,000 or higher. that seems strange as i was told this ECU was not very old (it came in a 2007 Lotus i just bought)

Can it still be connected or does it need some sort of upgrade to the ECU?

thanks folk

Hi,

NORMALLY this stickers is the true serial number, but to be sure you should connect your laptop to the ECU and go online,

Hit the HELP key and go to ECU Information, it will tell you the serial number of the ECU there.

If it is pre 10 000 this means the ECU will require a CAN BUS modification, this is done to enable the CAN BUS on your ECU.

Does this dash not have RS 232 communications as an option ?

Regards

Dave.
