Re: Crankshaft / camshaft position sensor - Question

Hi Folks, I have an early Link LEMV1 ECM in use with a 1994-1995 Subaru EJ20 motor from Japan in a sand rail dune buggy. It usually runs very well, but occasionally it won’t start (will crank, but no ignition). I have read that sometimes these engines have faulty Camshaft / Crankshaft positioning sensors. The usually start working after the sensor / engine has cooled down a bit. My specific question is: If the Cam or Crank shaft position sensor is bad will the Link LEMV1 prevent the ignition from firing? These are connected to Trigger 1 and Trigger 2 in the ECM. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks, Jim Lipsit
