Guest |195|
Is it possible to configure the vi-pec v88 to output an unmodified crankshaft signal/pulse? The factory dash on the car runs via canbus and the factory ECU needs a crankshaft pulse to be able to drive the tacho. (the factory ecu can't interpret the vi-pec's tacho output). rayhall
No it cannot do this. In cases like this you need to keep the stock ECU and share the crank trigger signals. Ray.
Guest |109|
or drop in an AIM dash .. i had exactly the same problem ... the added bonus is that you get LOTS more info on the aim dash than you do with a factory dash ...

Hi Ray, I considered doing that, but I was worried that sharing the crank signal (by splicing into the wire) might introduce some noise and effect the way the car runs... What are your thoughts on this?
Guest |85|
I've done this numerous times with no issues. Just don't share & splice into sensors like air temp and water temp.
