speed signal sensor toyota mr2

I`m almost done with all the wiring to hook up the V88 in my Toyota MR2 .

The only sensor that I`m not sure of how to setup is the speed signal input.

I want to have the speed sensor connected to the v88 and then with a output to the speedometer.

If I read the manual correctly than this is all possible.

The only thing that worries me is that the sensor uses a 5v, ground and signal wire and the manual says it needs to be a hall sensor(2 wire without a supply voltage). Can I setup the software in the V88 so it will work correctly ?

Thanks,

Joshma

Three wire sensors that have a power supply are hall effect sensors. Two wire sensors are reluctor.

Digital inputs can work with either Hall or reluctor sensors. This is the wiring,

Hall Sensors.

5v Supply = A32

Ground = A24, A7, B17 or B22

Signal = Digital input (1 to 6 only)

Software Setting = Edge falling and pullup resistor On.

Reluctor Sensors

-ve wire = Ground = A24, A7, B17 or B22

+ve wire = Digital input (1 to 6 only)

Software Setting = Edge rising and pullup resistor Off.

My mistake, thanks for the explanation Ray .

In the new software release it state that it has a sweep feature for the speedometer so I had a look but couldn't find it in the software. I did found the one for the tacho.

Do you also happen to have a base map suitable for the mr2 3sgte ?

Or is there a source were I can download it ?
