Guest |109|
Looking at installing a vi-pec onto a toyota 4age, 20v blacktop ... individual throttle bodies with tuned length intakes and individual air filters ... where would i take the map reading from ? would it be a case of tapping each of the intake runners and tieing them all together with some 5/16th hose and then back to the map sensor ? cheers
Guest |129|
the AE111 20V runs a map sensor from factory, connect your map sensor of choice to the factory port on the manifold, it's at the timing cover end.
Guest |535|
If it's OEM then it might function properly else use the setup you have suggested tying them together to a small canister and connect the MAP sensor to the canister. Depending on volume of the canister it might dampen the erratic MAP behavior often seen with TB's a bit.
Guest |109|
Thanks both. given this is not quite a factory 20v engine - its also been blueprinted / lightened etc i dont have the 'standard' map port available. adding the small can would seem to make sense tho. thanks
Guest |129|
How did you get rid of the factory map port? It's machined into the blacktop manifold.
Guest |109|
hmm - maybe have found it - looks like its capped off - is it on the top of the inlet manifold, in the middle ?
