New member Wiring questions

Hello everyone. After much debating, I finally purchased my first stand alone. It is a used V44 model. I am a complete noob to stand alone ecus. I have never wired one, never worked with one....you get the picture. I would like to use this unit to run an Audi 5cylinder 3B motor. I have done a lot of searching and because of my uncertainty and inexperience I am absolutely confused. I would like to know if there is a wiring diagram I can follow to begin to wire this unit. I am hoping for something relatively simple. I hope someone can be of help and have patience with me and my inexperience. I thank you all for taking the time to read my post and I look forward to all the help I will need.

Thanks everyone

Nick M

Start by having a skim through the old PDF manual (attached below), then come back with some more specific questions.  The is no standard wiring diagram as many of the inputs and outputs are flexible and can be set up to do many different tasks.

But basically the power and ground and relays for ignition/injectors etc should be done as per the power/ground wiring page in the manual.  Injectors will be best to wire 3 to a single drive each, then the remaining two to the 4th drive.

Are you making a complete new injection loom or are you splicing into a factory loom?  The Link G4 "A Loom" still fits the V44 so might be a good starting point if you are considering making a complete loom - Then many of the splices are alreday done for sensor grounds, triggers etc.

Are you keeping the distributor?  Im not sure if the V44 can do wasted spark on a 5 Cyl but it may be possible.

Hey Adamw, thanks very much for your response. I have skimmed through the pdf several times. Like I said I am a complete noob. I guess one of my concerns was driving 5 injectors when I only saw 4 injector outputs. I was unaware of using a cingle injector output to drive more than 1 injector. For now I do plan on keeping the distributor. My goal is to at least get the motor started. Yes I will be making a complete loom, the engine came with no loom or ecu. It was recently rebuilt by a Porsche specialist out in FL. I also have yet to purchase an "a' harness. Again...thank you kindly for your input.
