  1. I noticed the same thing when using a surface. Freezes for 20s, and opening of menus is really slow. I actually had the same issue with my new, regular, laptop. On the surface I never resolved it - although I didn’t put too much effort in there. On regular laptop, in the end I found the Intel graphics driver was causing delays, so I removed it and went back to the standard windows default one - the downside is that the 3D table graphic no longer renders text.
  2. Hmm, ok. I’m not entirely sure what I am to check on ignition system. It’s the same system the car was initially mapped with. Magnacor leads, NGK iridium plugs. Everything else is stock Toyota. A bit lost on this one.
  3. Hi Adam, Thanks for the response... a lot of potential problems to worry about there :-/ I recently wired in the knock microphone. When I use this, I need to have gain very low (set to 2 (two) ) so I suspect the signal on the line is strong. Do you think this could be a cause of the interference... I don't remember if I had the same level of problems before. Cheers, Christian
  4. I’d say it’s only when the engine is running. The only plugs in the ecu are the 2x wiring harnesses and the ecu->laptop usb cable. I may be imagining it, but it seems worse if the car is under load / driving. When idling it’s a little more reliable - although today I couldn’t get it to store even when idling.
  5. Hi, My Link has become almost unusable. When mapping, it constantly disconnects or fails to store. I thought it was the extension cable and have posted about this, but today I've tried it in the garage with the Link cable plugged directly into the laptop - no extension. I've also tried on another laptop. Same problem. Any ideas? This is really infuriating. Thanks, Christian
  6. I bought a USB "repeater" cable: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00B2HP2UI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 While it appears to be a little bit more reliable, I'm still having frequent disconnects when mapping. Can anyone recommend an actual product which they've had success with? I'm open to using a cable or a hub or anything which will give me reliability. Thanks!
  7. Hi, I can’t find the specs anywhere, is the Link G4+ comms USB 2.0 or 3.0? Thanks!
  8. Update on this.... I’m now having connection issues with my Link now I’m properly into the mapping (yes yes, I know it’s taken me an age to get round to it). When very little is going on then everything is fine, but if I have logging on and making some changes, or trying to do a store, my connection is dropping or store failing.... I suspect the cable could be the cause so will try something different as above.
  9. Sorry you are correct - I’m so used to having to press F3 to try to get it to reconnect. Yes. When I press ctrl-s it will say “store failed”
  10. Hi, I'm having an issue where my Fury is disconnecting whilst tuning. I've tried with two laptops to rule out a laptop issue - I experience the same on both. The issues I'm seeing: - Sometimes it struggles to connect at all - Whilst tuning, if I "store to ECU" (F3) then it often says "Store Failed"... if I keep retrying it will eventually store... unless... - It disconnects when trying to store. - It disconnects when making a change to the map tables - I've found that if I am just changing one cell it is more reliable, but if I am trying to change multiple cells at the same time (for instance, highlight a range and press "Q" or "A" then it immediately disconnects... almost like it can't cope with the multiple changes - I'm usually logging at the same time, so this is going on in the background (PC logging) Thanks for any help... this is really slowing me down tuning as simple things then take minutes to try to get laptop reconnected to car. Like I say, two independent laptops - latest today was tested with a fresh install from Linkecu.com of G4+ software. Cheers, Christian
  11. Hi Adam, Thanks for the clarification. Am I able to set up a “maths function” to add the trims I use together in PC link? I’d imagine I can do this after the event for analysis but perhaps not live? Cheers, Christian
  12. Hi, Is there a parameter for PC Link (G4+) and to log for the overall correction % or value being applied beyond the fuel / ign table? My old Motec had this and was useful to see that something was affecting the figures - you could then deep dive into exactly which parameter(s) was causing the correction. Thanks! Christian
  13. Hi, I've done some serious digging around to try to find how I change this, but can't find it. In my logs, for my GP Speed(Digital Input) for car speed I can only get it in kph. I've changed the units in "preferences" but to no avail. In the logging screens, when I add the parameter it says kph in the dialog box but it's greyed out so no way to change. Any help much appreciated. Thanks!
  14. Thanks for quick reply Adam. Presumably then, the ECU would still "hear" knock on all cylinders, but I just won't have the detail as to which one. Therefore, can I set Cyl2, 3, 4 knock detection to "OFF"? Thanks, Christian
  15. Hi, I'm trying to setup knock control on my map. I've set up some basic parameters, but I only appear to get values on cylinder 1. I expected I'd see some noise on all channels then tune for a threshold? I've read the notes - I'm on a distributer so does that mean the ECU can't tell which cylinder it's on? I just want to confirm this to make sure I'm not missing something obvious. I've added a log, if that helps. Thanks, Christian Log 2020-11-1 8;54;52 pm.llg

    ''Laggy'' software

UPDATE - the videos I've uploaded to demonstrate the problem - they don't appear to "stuck" to the link?! It showed as successfully uploaded Here is a link to the videos on a shared folder: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1hzn0ZIuABoGrWDrIXMt3NQtNigy8x-ND?usp=sharing

    ''Laggy'' software

PCLink with Intel adapter (laggy).mkv Here is a screen capture of the problem I'm experiencing - I've seen this on both this laptop and also on a VM (running on Mac) if I have 3D acceleration enabled. This is what I experience if I disable the Intel adapter... better, but not ideal. PCLink with default adapter.mkv Hi Mitch... yeah, I've tried those things. The scaling made no difference. I played with some other settings... weirdly, if I set everything up to Max Performance on the Intel control centre, it actually gets worse. We're not running Crisis here, so we shouldn't be pushing the boundaries of the driver. What is odd is that it affects more than the 3D map as can be seen in the videos. The 3D map (which I guess is using OpenGL) needs the right hardware features for the text, it seems, which I imagine is why it fails when the adapter is disabled. I have no idea why the rest of the software goes laggy though when the correct driver is enabled.

    ''Laggy'' software

Did this one ever get solved? I have similar issues as described here. For G4+ when NOT connected to car - take a good 10 seconds to "get ready" - if I press ESC and type, say "Accel En" the menu jumps around before settling on Accel Enrichment after a few seconds - if I right click on one of the dials and click properties, takes 12-15 seconds to open the dialog box... then dealing with this is painfully slow When CONNECTED to car - when first connects, freezes PCLink for 30 or so seconds - is a bit laggy when jumping between menus Overall, it makes the mapping experience quite poor. I've been able to recreate some of the above on a Virtual Machine on a Mac... not connected to car. I found that actually the software responds reasonably well if 3D acceleration is turned off... although then the text disappears in the graphical display. With 3D acceleration back on I start to see similar performance as I describe able (a bit slower as I'm on a VM). To navigate with the ESC and other features it is very usable. It does appear to be a problem with the graphics driver interaction - however this affects the whole application, not just the map table 3D charts. The "mapping laptop" has a clean install of Windows 10 and is fully up to date (the VM on Mac is also Windows 10). I bought a new laptop specifically for this so it's quite annoying that it doesn't work. Ideas? Christian Update - just for fun, I uninstalled the graphics adapter driver... Immediately the PC Link software is more responsive, but now the labels don't show on the 3D map views. Everything else works on this laptop - just not PCLink. Very frustrating. Is there a way I can turn off the labels? Not ideal but could be a workaround.
  19. Ahh, found it... thanks Brad!
  20. Hi Adam, Are you able to share the ST205 (3SGTE) base map which is on the plug and play ECU? I'd like to see which pins you have pre-configured? You've previously shared a 3SGTE base map, but it appears to have a bunch of inputs which the standard car wouldn't have, so I'd like to have a look at the plug and play one, if different. Thanks!
  21. Thanks Adam! That's exactly what I was looking for... really helpful (as usual!).
  22. Hi Adam, I've pasted the screen I believe you speak of below.... but this shows the error high and low in voltage... I assumed this was the "range" that the sensor was in normal operation, and outside of this range it would give me Error Value (so below, it would be 50degC). What I want to set up is that if the AIT is above, say 60degC to tell me... or if the ETs are above 100degC. Is this possible? For example, here is the screen from my old Motec...
  23. Hello, I'm sorry if this is an obvious one and I'm missing something simple, but I can't see where in G4+ where i can setup a warning / fault code when my AIT / ET / something else goes above a set figure. On my old Motec I could set up warnings which would flash up on dash if temps got high, or boost went high... I know I can setup the "gauges" to do something similar, but that's on the PC Link and not in the ECU. Also, if I want to send this information to a dash (I'll be doing this at some point) - or set up warning light - I'd need to be able to do this. I'm sure I'm being a noob not finding the setting so appreciate any help! Cheers!
