  1. Hi Adam,

Many thanks for he input, I went through all the usual an did disconnect the Signal wire and confirmed the 3V at the back of the car to prove that wire was ok... all things are leading to the sensor just wanted a sense check given the delivery of a replacement (was a new sensor unit) is 3 weeks :-(..

    Thanks again

    Scott

  2. Hi All,

Running a Fury ECU on a Westfield kit car with a Ford 2.3 Duratec - Car has passed emissions and running very well.

Have a 7" Link / AIM dash set up, feed from ECU working, all street symbols set and working.

I am having an issue with the speed input, current set up

    - 3 wire Hall effect (5-12v) sensor set up on rear left CV - magnet bonded on Cv with 0.5mm Gap

    - Pin 3 - VB output used for power (confirm 12V and sensor)

    - Pin 18 - Speed input (confirm positive connection between Sensor and dash )

    - ground wire from sensor to Chassis

    - All ground wires from Dash 23 pin connection are grounded to chassis

Race studio 3 set up in channels

    - Speed box ticked

    - Wheel spd - rear right selected

    - sensor set to speed sensor

    - unit 0.1

    - Freq set at 20 Hz and Wheel diameter set on a single pass

Issue that I have no reading on Dash, in trouble shooting I've noticed that Pin 18 is showing a steady 3.2v, I was not expecting this? (note it reads this even when disconnected from the speed sensor)

When I rotate the wheel (car in gear at idle off the ground) the measured voltage on the sensor output wire is steady at 3.2v (whilst connected to Dash)

The garage that tuned the car suggest I use Dig in on the ECU for the speed but before I go down this route i would like to figure out why the dash is not picking up the speed.

Appreciate difficult to explain over words - just seeking any advice or issues you may have faced in the past in setting up the speed?

    Many thanks,

    Scott

  3. Hi Adam - no change in moving the idle settings, however I left the engine running for a while at the 2k limit as it warned so i could have a good look over, what is pretty obvious is a significant air leak at the rear of the manifold that I will look at over the holidays..

thanks again for for your help and hope you have a good X mass holiday

  4. Once again thanks Adam, will check tonight - Confirm it is a 2 wire reluctor, same as the crank, I measured 1.5v on the crank wires and same on Cam wire so I am really just guessing it is the senor  - sure you are tired of my by now.

Unfortunately I'm about 3 hours out of Perth and the nearest Link dealer, thus the desire to get it running in a basic form and ensure cooling and drivetrain is ok before I make to trip to drop it off.

Once again really appreciate your help :-)

  5. Hi Adam,

Thanks for the previous - Checked out Cam shaft wiring and happy it was powered but nothing out of the sensor, ordered another and thank you for the Map blindingly obvious issue, now correctly calibrated with the Bosch 1.15bar unit.

engine runs 1000 times better - now need a little direction (again) - when starting it just runs up to set max rpm, confirm the throttle is at 100%. I brought the RPM limit down to 2000 whilst I was trying to problem solve but drew a blank - have attached a log for the last run.

As ever really appreciate your help

    Cheers,

    Scott

  6. Hi Adam,

hope you are well, been a while - like most busy with work.

Since the last update I have replaced the Throttle body and E-Peddle for Bosch units and this area is a lot better, when the engine is running it is not jumping anymore.

I've attached 2 log files, one with the engine just about running and second when it would not start.

I did not manage to get a file when it was running "better" - seems to only on 3 cyl when it does rev up to 2500 with the corresponding unburnt petrol  / smoke through the exhuast (Black smoke)

any thought appreciated (alternator not connected thus the low Battery)

    Cheers,

    Scott

  7. Hi Adam,

I was have a play over the weekend on the throttle (standard Ford unit), noticed the 5v was not fully pushed in and must have been me that pushed in in wrong damaging the pin. Ordered a new connector (as ever will takes weeks to arrive) that I am sure will fix the errant throttle. will let you know once it is running again.

    Cheers,

    Scott

  8. Hi Adam,

    Attached 3 files.

2 PC log files under the same conditions on a short 15-second run, starts ok but very rough as you would expect with the rich running. (lots of black smoke once it stalls and when plugs are taken out you can see the unburnt fuel in cylinders )

Also attached a trigger file that is a lot cleaner than the other one.

once again, many thanks - the intend was just to start and move before I send off to the tuners later in the year :-)

    Cheers,

    Scott

  9. hi Adam,

The Map/ IAT working as you said it was the pin out!!

Engine started, be it was prob only on 2 cylinder and of course running very rich.

I've attached a Trigger scope be it looks very odd, also attached a log file for the short run which i hope helps, as ever it is the first time I have done a log file so hopefully i have captured enough data.

    Really appreciate your help :-).

  10. Hi Adam,

Had a go at firing for the first time with no luck.

Aside from a TMAP error that I have narrowed down to a faulty sensor (unplugged for now and in fault) i was am getting fuel pressure on the rail, sparking ok it does not appear to have any fuelling.

    Removed plugs and cylinder dry,

Error log on cranking showing Fuel Calculation "Error Low"...

Attached is the file - would it be as simple as the TMAP disconnected that would cause this?

    many thanks in advance

  11. Hi Adam,

Question on the Dash - Link MXG Strada

I've connected up to Can 2 and data is flowing no issue between the ECU and Dash - issue i'm trying to figure out is that every time I turn off the ecu and start again it does not appear to be saving the Can2 configuration, even though when I set up and save it confirms the changes have been saved.

I've not set up the Can2 on the Base Map I sent over to you, just wondering if there is anything obvious other than just saving changes that I should be doing?

    Many thanks for your help

    Scott

  12. thanks Adam, again  newbee at this - I was originally going to use an ITB set up with an E throttle but was steered to use the original Ford intake manifold to get the car through emissions testing before I start playing with new Cams and ITB's..... with the standard manifold having the idle valve I just "blindly" wired up :-)

  13. HI Adam,

Have attached the Base map, pretty much everything is working, though for some reason get -40 on my ECT which i'm trying to solve.

    basic engine info

    2310 CC

    9.7 to 1 Comp ratio

    330cc injectors

using standard intake manifold (ford unit)

using a high set of exhaust manifold with a wideband

    Direct spark

Fuel Pressure set at 40 Psi

    set the firing order already

much appreciate your help, no rush so please no stress.

    Cheers
