  1. Hi guys, bit of a noob to CAN so apologies in advance. I'm currently wiring an Xtreme in a car with an AEM CD5 dash and x2 Link CAN Lambdas. I just wanted to confirm that if I run the CD5 dash off CAN 1 (round connector) and wire the 2 lambdas as part of the engine harness on CAN 2 (plug B wired connection), that the ECU would share all data across both networks? Meaning the dash could display all can data, including AFRs from the 2 sensors. Thanks in advance!
  2. Perfect! This will help simplify my harness quite a bit. Thanks again!
  3. One other question I had: Are the 14v+ outputs on this ECU able to be repurposed for other engine accessories? For example this engine has been converted to cable drive and does not have a variable exhaust cam so those 14v+ outputs (pins P20 & O7) will not be used. Is it possible to use these outputs to power other devices such as a boost solenoid or idle control valve?
  4. Adam thanks for the clarification on that. I was a bit confused at first because I was thinking about it in terms of a 2 wire system like CAN bus. Looking at the cars wiring diagram now it makes more sense. I can see the ECU has 2 outputs: one goes to the body ECU, the other goes to the AC control assembly, cluster, theft deterrent system and back to the body ECU. Its a bit misleading the factory diagram switches between using MPX1 & MPX2 in some places and MPX+ and MPX- designations in others. Thank you both for answering all my questions in such a timely manner!
  5. Wow-answered all of my questions within 45 minutes of posting. You're a hero Vaughan. MUCH appreciated!!
  6. Hi Guys, first post here. Always happy to be part of a new community of knowledgeable enthusiasts. I am an intermediate-level wiring harness fabricator from socal with experience with Haltech, EcuMasters, etc but this will be the first Link I'm wiring. I have a customer with an IS300 running a 2JZ VVTI that wanted to retain OE functionality of the gauge cluster, ac etc and the Altezzalink has been recommended as the best option with BEAN communication. I am fully aware that the IS300 is not a supported application for this ECU, but that being said, I know it can be configured to work with the IS300/2JZ with a little work. I had a few basic questions on the wiring below that I want to be 100% certain about before I start the harness. I appreciate any insight you can share and thanks in advance for the help! 1) Pin P6 and N1 are listed as NC, but says 12v+ constant. What is the purpose of these pins? Are they an input or output? 2) I'm fairly certain pins P8, P21, 017, and N15 are power grounds for the ECU. Is this correct? 3) The 2JZ uses 2 knock sensors, but this ecu is only set up for one out of the box. Are any of the inputs able to be repurposed for the second sensor or any other solution to have both functioning? 4) I see there is a dedicated ground for the primary trigger (O24) but not for the secondary cam trigger(s). Would it be acceptable to ground both crank and cam grounds to this pin? VR type. 5) Pin Q28 is listed as start signal. Is this supposed to receive 12v+ only while cranking? Does the ECU have a need for this signal or is it strictly for an OE function? 6) There are 2 BEAN output wires labelled on the pinout (N5, N12) but I am uncertain of the right order to connect to the factory IS300 network wires which Toyota labels 'Multiplex 1 & 2' on the wiring diagram. I assume this works similar to CAN where there is a low and hi, however I haven't been able to figure out which is which on the ECU side or the vehicle body harness side. I'm doing a bit more digging to find an Altezza diagram I can compare the Link pinout against. 7) Pins N8 and N16 are ECU power. Does this need to be constant or ignition switched? 8) Lastly looking for some info on the function/relationship of pins N10 marked 'controls main EFI relay' and pin N22 marked 'controlled by ignition switch (N10). Apologize for the overload of questions-just wanted to get everything out there at once. Pics of the TALTX manual attached. Thanks again!
