  1. The distributor was graphed to suit the engine specs.
I have attached the table and a pic of the coils. I don’t have my book of specs with me and can’t remember what the coils are but I’ll attach a pic

  2. Hi Adam

    thx for your reply.
it has individual coil packs and regraphed electronic distributor.
the tuner said he checked tdc and I can only assume he used a timing light and his mainline Dyno and laptop.
He also was perplexed at the timing but said that’s just what it wants.
    I’ll check the table

  3. Hi Team

    i need some help.
I’m running a high performance 331 cub, injected Windsor with alloy rad, CSR elec water pump, Xtreme ecu. It has a high lift and duration cam and it prefers very advanced ignition timing (70 degrees). In fact it doesn’t like any less. The engine runs hot after a bit of driving (up to 110 deg C before I shut it off).
it didn’t run hot before I changed the Can, had it tuned with the Link.
i have checked the water pump settings done by my tuner and it appears it is set to open at zero rpm. I’m a first time Link owner so I’m not 100% sure. Could someone verify (pic attached) and recommend condition setting for me

  4. Excuse my ignorance Adam I’m a first time user of Link and Haltech (prev motec m48).

The link Xtreme CAN set up options mode tab doesn’t have the Mode option “Transmit DiplayLink”.
the screen shot shows the only available options. I tried “transmit Generic Dash” and it seems to be working

  5. I’ll connect the laptop to the car on Sat and take a pic of the map.
the ecu was set up by MRC and I installed the Ic-7.
Do I need to change any settings on the Link Xtreme so it sends data to the dash?

will I damage anything if I try reversing the can wires into the dash as a test?

  6. Hi Team

My Haltech IC-7 is not reading any data from my Link Xtreme ECU.
i am using the Haltech cable for the Link G4
Any ideas? I’m a little frustrated

i have tried selecting both CAN Termination Resistor enabled and disabled and have the Link G4 protocol selected (infact the cable does that by default). See pic of IC-7 settings.

  7. Hi all,

Hope these questions aren't to silly.

I'm just about to install my IC-7 into my Xtreme.

    1. Are the two Link Xtreme round ports identical/interchangeable?

    2. I have the laptop connected to the port with the red ring and the dash connected to the other round ports - is this correct?

    3. Can I leave the laptop cable connected all the time as my ecu is inaccessible?

    4. I just read another post where it was found that the CAN hi & lo wires in the Haltech plug need to be reversed. I bought the Haltech IC-7 to Link cable part no. 130047 (pic attached).  Does it have the CAN in the correct orientation or do I still have to swap the CAN hi & lo in the plug?

  8. I have a spare laptop just for my ecus (was running a Motec M48).

I have the exact same issue trying to run PC Link on my Windows XP lap Top.

It will download the Installer from Links website but once downloaded, when you click the icon I get the same error message "...not a valid win32 application".

No big deal just hoped someone had a simple solution
