  1. Evening all - Tried to reach out to the Link team via the enquiry button on the website but haven't heard back so I thought I'd ask here instead.

I have a NA MX5 Link G4+ running my V8 Mustang at the moment but want to switch to a injection and ignition setup that will use more pins than what the OEM MX5 connector has available, I can get around this by having an extra connector added but isn't terribly elegant.

In this regard, has anyone approached Link before to see if they're able to re-house a Plugin ECU back into it's parent case so that you could switch to the normal two * 34 pin connectors?

I'm happy to throw money at the problem, just not so much that I could buy another ecu.

  2. Hey all,

Does anyone have a idea of the price point/availability of the Voodoo G5 yet?

We're about to buy the ecu for a build, were going to go with the FuryX and a PCS can bus amp to give it the EGT thermocouple support but if the Voodoo is going to be out soon and close enough in price we'd rather go with a single unit solution.

  3. I've been playing with can cabling a fait bit lately, like Adam, I made one that had stubs well over 2m long so I didn't have to keep getting in and out of the car, no issues whatsoever.

I suspect if you looked at some OEM harnesses you'd find some seriously wacky stuff.

    Thanks for your reply.

I have ordered one. And see how it goes.

One of the cars I'm working on at the moment I'm installing a AiM PDM32, you'll never look at wiring the same afterwards :-) The biggest hassle is the release tab for the harness plugs.

  5. I've had this happen before as well, it's only happened once but we now pull the data after each race now while the car is cooling down as a precaution.

Mine is a Plugin G4+ with nothing special attached to it.

Hey nick,  trying to fit the evo 1 2 3 computer in the rvr, can get the car to run by changing the leads around on the coil, runs but not very good, stock computer is better. How did yo do all the cam/crank changes do you have pictures. The rvr doesn’t have the cam sensor on the side of the head like the 1 - 3 motors do.

    cheers

Most people don't realise that the Super Sports gear which ran the small camshaft Evo 2 engine actually had a mid-life revision, early Super Sports Gears had a CAS on the cylinder head, later ones had a Crank Angle Sensor added.

  7. Mine has the external TFI as well, and almost completely stock so it should get yours up and running nicely, mine is setup with a link CAN-Lambda, uses the onboard MAP sensor and has a aftermarket intake, that's about it really - makes 180.7 whp.

  8. If you're running multiple instances of the software it could be crashing from a contention issue if they're both trying to access the USB/serial ports at the same time?

We have issues with PCLink here if I have things like the Arduino IDE open that polls the USB ports continuously like how PCLink does.

Could be worth a try, start up multiple copies of PCLink, turn off auto-connect and see if it stabilises?

  9. Spend the money on a flex fuel sensor (They're pretty cheap since they're OEM in many makes and models of car) and get that setup - then you don't have to worry about band-aid fixes when you change fuels.

Hey guys I'm curious if I can run an 5.3 ls with a custom harness off my plug and play g4+. Does anyone know if this is possible?

If you batch fire the injectors and run a wasted spark setup it's do-able, could use a couple of Subaru Impreza coilpacks.

I'm currently running an injected 302w with a Mazda MX5 Plugin ecu, so anything's possible :-)

  11. We've got a 2L non-turbo engine that we've just switched from traditional to modelled, 559cc@310kpa injectors.

The only problem is that the VE tables at idle are in the low 100's and it quickly max's out at 150 under load.

Injector size is set as per the manufacturers (Grams) documentation, engine size, all the fuel density values, etc all appear correct.

The only way we've found of getting the VE's down to a believable level is by halving the Injector Flow@Rated Pressure - what other variables are out there that can cause such a significant shift across the entire VE table? Fuel pressure at the regulator is reading correctly on both a analog gauge and it's sender too.

Can post/attach more detail after work, thought I'd get in early...

Hi, I am using can analyzer and Real Dash does not indicate speed.
    Also Gear works intermittently.
The speed is on a Di4 and I use DASH2PRO to transmit on ID 1000 at 20hz.
Link ecu works correctly, speed and gear, could it be an error in the Real Dash XML file?
    Greetings!

Go into Realdash, into Inputs & Values, and check that your Vehicle Speed data source is set right.
