  1. Thanks Adam I got that. Was just having a read of this: http://www.cpgnation.com/forum/threads/inductive-vs-hall-effect-sensors-something-to-consider.21418/ This comment: Always twist the three wires together and shielding them is always a good idea. Should I be using shielded cabling and twisting? Just trying to do anything I can to fix it.
  2. Thanks Adam, ill move onto doing a triggerscope then. That link doesn't appear to be working for the triggerscope, do you have that somewhere else I can download? Cheers.
  3. Hi guys, I have a g4+ running a rb26/30 with one of these trigger kits: https://rossperformanceparts.com/product/nissan-rb-36t-crank-trigger-kit-2/ Now the issue is the car will start to ramp up onto boost, then all of the sudden does this really violent bang/backfire and instantly loses power. Sometimes it does it, sometimes not and will pull clean to redline. It seems to get worse as the car gets hot. It's literally driving me insane. Last time at the track we had to pull out of the session and go home. Its using the Cherry sensor, with the 36-2 crank trigger disc. Had it tuned the other day, and it was getting a "few" trigger errors up top but I was told would be OK. I was told to install the 12-1 trigger disc on crank instead to attempt to resolve. So, what I would like to do is take it for a run tonight, and log everything it does back to a laptop. Can someone give me a quick run down of how to get it recording back to laptop? I just want something I can save, that someone on here can look at and just confirm what the cause is. Cheers.
  4. Appreciate your help Adam, your a good bunch of guys at Link. Attached is a trigger scope, and a log file of it occurring. When running it again just now, it almost feels like some kind of cut occurring, just stops revving once it hits a high rpm, comes back down again and continues to run. 5. Hi All, Ill try to keep this short. Engine is a rb26/30. Running a ross trigger kit, exact one here except the 36T on crank: https://rossperformanceparts.com/product/nissan-rb-crank-cam-trigger-kit-twin-cam-2/ Now it was all running great, then I had some issues with the cylinder head. Got the head back and re-installed, now its popping and backfiring around 4K RPM. You can feel it sort of start to die around 3800 and starts hating life, just does not want to rev. Now I am still getting use to this trigger setup and how it works, so forgive me if I ask a really stupid question. The only change in the cylinder head is it now has a 290 duration camshaft on the exhaust side, where as before it had 280 on both in and ex. Would the camshaft duration change be the cause of maybe the timing being out now somehow? If so how can I now resolve it? Everything else is checking out, ie fuel pressure, spark, no boost leaks, etc. Cheers.
  6. Hey Guys, Just got my 26/30 back together, plugged it all back in how it was prior, and its cranking and not firing. Getting fuel pressure to the rail, haven't checked for spark yet. Have base map and 2x logs attached, both logs are of it cranking trying to start. Is someone able to take a quick look and maybe tell me what's going wrong with her? I have checked and triple checked all plugs are in. Btw its a ross trigger setup, 36-2 Cheers. james2630.pclr Log 2017-11-27 10;01;29 pm.llg Log 2017-11-27 10;04;04 pm.llg
  7. Sweet thanks for that Adam appreciate it mate.
  8. Hey guys, Appreciate everyone's help with this, thanks for the above Adam, you actually saved my bacon on that. I ordered another XSL loom, was just going to be easier that way. I have been reading up on some other posts in regards to wiring. I have the Cherry sensors as I read the GT101's are not good at high frequency. Anyway each sensor has ground, +, and signal, which is no worries. My only question is around wiring them into the standard nissan CAS. Basically I was going to take the 12v+ and ground from the nissan CAS wiring, and branch that off into each sensor. Then signal obviously goes into signal 1 and 2. Is branching off the single 12V and ground from the nissan CAS wiring, then going into two sensors OK? Or does each sensor needs its own dedicated 12V and ground all the way back to the ECU? Cheers.
  9. One last question guys and I'm good. I picked up my XSL loom today, I need to wire in 2x Syltech sensors one for oil pressure and one for fuel, and trigger a 12v relay. Can I trigger a 12v relay using the XSL loom? I assume so. I then should use DI5 and DI6 for both sensors input? What should I be using to trig relay?
  10. Awesome thanks for the info and heads up Steve.
  11. Hi Simon, do you know if the 36-2 wheel needs any particular orientation when bolting to the balancer? ie the 2 missing teeth, does that need to line up with the balancer TDC or something? This is all bit new to me, thank you for your help so far but.
  12. Awesome thanks Simon your a bloody legend mate
  13. Thanks very much for your help Simon, its much appreciated. I picked up an XS loom today, will just make it easier I think like you mention. Do you see any issues running the 36-2T wheel here vs the 12 Simon? https://rossperformanceparts.com/product/nissan-rb-36-2t-crank-trigger-disc-race-series-harmonic-damper/ Are you able to tell me what the difference is mate with the above 36 vs the 12 here: https://rossperformanceparts.com/product/nissan-rb-12t-crank-trigger-disc-race-series-harmonic-damper/ Also once I get the triggers wired into the old CAS wiring, and setup in the menu, would I be able to drive the car OK on current tune? I would guess yes to this. Cheers. Also is there any chance you could tell me what settings to change in the menu once wired in to suit the 36-2T wheel Simon? Really appreciate your help mate.
  14. Hey Guys, Have a rb26/30 engine in an r32 running a new Link G4+ plugin. I will be changing over to a Ross crank/cam trigger and also wiring in 2x sensors for oil and fuel pressure (Sylex sensors). Also want to trigger a 3rd fuel pump relay somehow, AUX out? Can someone help me with the following: 1. Do I need an expansion cable to wire in fuel and oil pressure sensors on the plugin? 2. Is there a pinout diagram for the Link G4+ gtr plugin somewhere? 3. Is there an AUX out pin on the Link G4+ that I can use to trigger a relay for my 3rd fuel pump? 3. Can someone tell me how I should wire both Cherry sensors for the triggers, and the Sylex fuel/oil pressure sensors? Can I wire into existing CAS wiring on 26 loom for Cherry sensors? 4. Can I change over to trigger style in the menu somehow once wired in? It's currently running off factory Nissan CAS.
