Playpold
Hi everyone, Doing a Camaro -69 LS6 swap and the alternator is from a 2005- CTS-V which need a 5v 128hz PWM signal to turn on. Using the G4+ Xtreme and as it can only output a 12v PWM I was wondering if it is possible to solve this with the same resistor setup as the the thread below:http://forums.linkecu.com/topic/12184-5v-rpm-signal-needed/?tab=comments#comment-78571
Adamw
Yeah, that should do it fine. I believe also you can just leave the PWM disconnected and those alternators default to charging at 13.8V. The PWM is mainly used by the OEM to drop alternator load at cruise conditions for fuel economy and emissions. Probably not ideal to do that in an aftermarket situation where you often have vague or guessed injector characterisation etc.
