Has anyone used the V44 with IQ3 Racepak?

What kind of parameteres are available and how do i link an value to an adress in the ECU so its broadcasted on the CAN??

A quick introduction in how to set up the CAN parameters in the Vipec would be great ;)

Thanks

The User CAN Setup form allows configuration of each CAN module. Select the CAN Configuration menu item in the ECU Controls drop down menu to show this form.

Note: Setting up the CAN bus is an advanced task and should only be done by experienced users. It can be very time consuming and some knowledge of CAN protocols is required. It is unlikely that incorrect configuration will cause damage to any devices, however it is possible to interfere with the communication of other working devices.

Warning: Changes made inside this form are not automatically stored. Make sure you click Apply or OK, then do a Store to have the ECU permanently remember the settings.

The User CAN Setup form is used to configure the following:

· CAN Module Selection - This determines which CAN Module is being configured.

· Data Rate - The modules data rate. Set to OFF to disable the module.

· The data transmitted or received on each CAN Channel.

Configuring a CAN Transmit Channel Using a Pre-configured File

Use this procedure to configure the CAN module to transmit data to an external device such as a dash.

1. Select the appropriate CAN Module

2. Enable the CAN Module by selecting the correct bus data rate. This must match other devices on the bus.

3. Select a spare channel in the CAN Channels list.

4. Click Load.

5. Select the appropriate configuration file.

6. Click OK to apply the changes and close the form.

7. Don't forget to do a Store (F4 key).

Configuring a Custom CAN Transmit Channel

Use this procedure to configure a custom transmit data set.

1. Select the appropriate CAN Module

2. Enable the CAN Module by selecting the correct bus data rate. This must match other devices on the bus.

3. Select a spare channel in the CAN Channels list.

4. Enter the CAN ID for the data set. Note that this must match the receiving devices configured CANID.

5. Set the Data Direction to ECU Transmit.

6. Select the required Transmit Format. Refer below for data packing formats.

7. Set the rate at which the data set must be transmitted. Be careful selecting an unnecessarily fast rate. This would cause unnecessary bus load, particularly if the receiving device can not process all the extra information.

8. Select each parameters to be included in the data set from the tree list on the right. Double click or use the left pointing arrow to add it to the Channel Data (middle list).

9. Use Move Up and Move Down to sort the channel data. Save the channel configuration if required for future use.

10. Click OK to apply the changes and close the form.

11. Don't forget to do a Store (F4 key).

Configuring a CAN Receive Channel

Receive channels can not be custom configured. Only selected from a list on preset options.

1. Select the appropriate CAN Module

2. Enable the CAN Module by selecting the correct bus data rate. This must match other devices on the bus.

3. Select a spare channel in the CAN Channels list.

4. Enter the CAN ID for the data set. Note that this must match the transmitting devices configured CANID.

5. Set the Data Direction to CAN Receive.

6. Select a device type from the list (middle list box).

7. Click OK to apply the changes and close the form.

8. Don't forget to do a Store (F4 key).
