Justin01
Hello, I am installing a new G4X into a an OBDI e36. It has the m50 intake manifold which has an intake air temp sensor in it already. However, it is located inside the manifold, not before the throttle body as recommended. I bought a "fast response" IAT sensor to install before the throttle body in my intake piping. FYI, this is a NA application, no boost, only bolt-ons. My question is, what do I wire the new IAT sensor to on the G4X? Or, do I wire it up to the existing IAT sensor plug/wires and just leave the OEM IAT unplugged? Do I even need the fast response IAT for a non-boosted application? Thanks!
Adamw
The stock sensor will probably be fine in this case. But if you did want to use the new sensor, just move the wire from the original sensor to the new one and the old one remains disconnected. I think I will use the stock sensor for now, to get the car up and running, as it is a pain to get to the IAT wires under the manifold.
