soondin
E36X on 1994/05 E36 M50B25TU for turbo tune. Most all main input and output work okay. But air conditioning & heating switch working strange. This car have no A/C compressor belt and no A/C refrigerant yet. Please check attached logs. Logging started following conditions. Engine in idle and stable temps. And I do turn on blower rotary to #1. DI3 status is not changed. When I push A/C switch A/C clutch is on (Can hear magnet clutch engaged) - AC Switch.ligx When I push Air Circulation switch works same as A/C switch, A/C clutch is on (Can hear magnet clutch engaged) - Circulation Switch.ligx Already I said, no refrigerant and no input DI2 After this test, Off Blower rotary and Rapidly turned blower step to max. Shortly can see DI3 is active and A/C clutch is on (Very short time so can't hear magnet clutch engaged) - Blower step to max.ligx I do not touch any of DI2~3 settings from basemap. Just do test pullup and down to see what is changed. Firmware is new. AC Switch.llgx Blower step to max.llgx Circulation Switch.llgx
Adamw
The system will need to be gassed up before the climate computer will output an AC request to the ecu. DI2 and DI3 possibly need the settings changed but you will need gas in the system to test. The factory manual is not clear but is looks to me like DI2 is actually the AC request DI, not DI3. soondin
Today test after filled gas. Still have same issue. I will change DI inputs and let you know. Change AC request source to DI2 have same problems too.
Adamw
Can you check the voltage you are receiving on DI 2 & 3 with AC ON/Off.
soondin
When AC on/off can see DI2 and 3 have active. Only problems is no AC gas, E36x make ON AC clutch control just push AC button or Air Circulation button. With AC gas, never off AC clutch control until I do off AC button or Air Circulations button. Adamw
Im having trouble following what the problem is. Can you try to explain it in a bit more detail.
soondin
AC control setup as base map (AC Request Source DI3) 1. Just push AC (*) button to ON. AC clutch be ON (Without GAS) 2. Just push Air circulaton button to ON. AC clutch be ON (Without GAS) 3. After fill AC GAS have same problems. At this never turn off AC clutch when AC switch is off. When change AC Request Source to DI2. It's okay E36X control AC Clutch ON/OFF. But still have AC clutch work with AC button or Air Circulation. I have check input voltage it's arounf 12.5V and drop to 0.2v.

Sorry, I still dont quite understand. I assume the AC clutch should only work when AC button and the circulation button are on at the same time? Is this correct? But in your case the AC Clutch is engaging even if you turn on only the AC button or only the circulation button? Is this correct?
soondin
Sorry for my poor english. Just only Air circulation button (off AC button) AC Clutch controlled.
