nissan200sx.dk
Hi. I am setting up trigger for the v88. Help file shows 2 different plugs, the first is G1 + G2 the second is G3 + G4.. How to tell what I have? The CAS sensor is from a RB25DET series 1.
Dave Kriedeman
Do you still have the factory loom and ecu. If you do then you can trace the 2 trigger wires back to the ECU header, determine what pins they are connected to and configure the V88 wiring the same. Failing that, the power and ground wires are located at the same pins on both style CAS connectors. Connect trigger 1 and 2 up to your preference. If you crank the engine and dont get any rpm signal on your laptop, swap the trigger 1 and 2 wires at the CAS connector. You have a 50/50 chance of getting it right straight up. Or take a photo of your CAS connector on the CAS and supply the P/No of the CAS stamped on the side of the CAS, so it can be correctly identified. Simon
The G3 / 4 one is the one to go with.
nissan200sx.dk
Power to CAS sensor, should that be the relay switched power to ECU? Ground to CAS sensor, should that be the white wires? If so, should I connect both white wires together at the CAS sensor ground pin? (one white wire from the gray trigger cable, and one white wire from the black trigger cable) The braided shielding in both trigger wires I do not need to connect to anything, correct? (Are they grounded from the ECU?) Thank you the help.
Simon
Ground can be just one white wire the other can be covered and not used. Power can be from main relay (key switched) Shield should be left not connect at the sensor end.
nissan200sx.dk
Thank you. Can i connect both white wires?
Simon
You can but no need as they are common back at the ECU end.
