franzcars Posted March 24, 2023 Report Share Posted March 24, 2023 Hello, I'm trying to help a friend get his MX5 NB started on his new MX5NB1X ecu. I've gotten the basemap setup for his injectors ect, and verified the map/tps however when we crank it, the rpm will spike up to anywhere from 300-3000 rpm and will not show a steady rpm while cranking. I've tried both the MX5 trigger as well as the Evo 1-6 trigger since they should be the same, but the results are the same. Counting the teeth in the scope, it all appears to be correct, with 4 teeth on Trigger 1 and 2 groups on trigger 2 It's a NB with a mazdaspeed bottom end and the original bp4w head, so the triggers should be the same. Adamw Posted March 24, 2023 Report Share Posted March 24, 2023 That should be using the MX5 OBD2 trigger mode as per the NB1 base map. The scope appears to match that pattern, although it looks like the cam timing is possibly a bit different to normal. Did you try that mode?
