manuell korzelius Posted November 24, 2010 Report Share Posted November 24, 2010 Ive got a mazda rx4 with a 13b pp with injection and link lem v4 up graded to v5 and trying to hook up another tachometer , all the wire that i have hooked up to havent work.any one no what im doing wrong. Jurgen Biggelaar Posted November 25, 2010 Report Share Posted November 25, 2010 Hi Manuell. A car from that era is most likely to have a high level tacho input needed. Put simply, these older tacho's were designed to take a high voltage signal directly from the coil negative. The G1 Link ECU's, and infact all of them can only output a low level (low voltage) signal, and is not enough to drive the tacho. You will need to modify the tacho to accept a low level signal, or find a box on the internet that will transform this signal as necessary. I know they exist, but cannot recommend any that I know of.
