Ashy_T2 Posted May 12 Report Share Posted May 12 Hello, Sorry to repeat the same threat as others but im having a similar issue and unable to resolve. Im running an Atom ECU - new install from scratch on an old Renault 5. I've double checked the wiring and I'm happy. I get a good strong spark on ignition test. Injectors click nicely on injector test. I get 250rpm when cranking but no spark (tested with plug out and earthed to head. I read a few threads on here and tried a few things but no luck. I'm only running the crank sensor, no cam. I've attached the logs of the scope when cranking - i did two logs, swapped the wires around on the sensor incase this was the issue but it made no diffference. Maybe its a setting in the ECU as i'm very new to this. Any help appreciated. Cheers Ashy. Adamw Posted May 12 Report Share Posted May 12 I assume it is a 24-1 trigger wheel, not 24 teeth with none missing? If it is then the trigger setup should use multitooth/missing mode. You also need to set sync mode to none and lower trig 1 arming threshold. You may even need to reduce the sensor airgap a little as you only have 0.27V on trig 1 where the crank slows down due to compression. The original wiring crank sensor was correct. You will also need to set up a MAP sensor and TPS to run the engine, these wont prevent a spark however. What ignition coil do you have? Ashy_T2 Posted May 13 Author Report Share Posted May 13 Thats great thanks Adam!! I've made the changes to trigger 1 and 2 this morning quickly before work and I now have a spark! wooohooooo!! I am interested in a couple of things from your post - You have said 24-1 but its a 36-1 (does the scope log show 24?) The TPS and MAP sensors are set up but you say they aren't? Perhaps I uploaded an older version of the MAP - I thought when I save the changes it updated the map on my computer but perhaps this isnt the case. see attached screenshots. If you click Save or Save as or F2 then the map on your screen is saved to your PC, if you click Store or F4 then that is just making it permanent in the ecu.
