How to connect my PC to my Vi-Pec ecu?

Recommended Posts

Hello, I have a unused Vi-Pec V44 plugin ecu that's been laying on my shelf for a long time, and I was told that I need to check that it is unlocked. How do I go about this?

I downloaded the Vi-pec software (VTS?) and plugged the USB to my pc, I found another thread here saying it needs power.

I'm currently using a stationary PC, so getting power from the car is not an option.

Hello again.

I ended up using my work laptop to download the VTS V4.10.2.1784. I plugged the ECU in the car and turned on the ignition, but I get a error message saying that the program doesn't see the ECU. How do I trouble shoot this?
I use the pre-connected can-bus which is connected to the "USB" slot in the ECU
