Gijs Ende
I have bought a ecu datascan display to connect to my G4 ecu I have the cables for it to connect to the ecu but i am unable to connect to the ecu. I also have a odb connector and connected this another car and that was working Is there a setting that have you to in the ecu do to get this to work? Simon
You will need to find out if the dash supports the ECU data stream directly. The G4 does not put an OBD data stream out only CAN or Serial data.
Gijs Ende
it does support the G4 and the G3 and the vipec ecu but i have no idea what the datastream is
Dave Kriedeman
Hi Gijs, You need to connect the ECU DATA SCAN to the Serial/CAN socket, Then select the ECU type from the drop down menu on the touch screen. The DATA SCAN wont work if you have your laptop connected at the same time. How long ago did you purchase the dash, I got one years ago, they work great, but then the website got hacked and never heard anymore about them. If they are available again I will buy a few. Regards Dave.
Gijs Ende
Hi Dave, I did not have the laptop connected at the same time. i did try the G3, G4 and the vipec but none of them are connecting to my G4. Did you make any settings in the ecu? And i think the company does not exist any more. Gijs
Dave Kriedeman
Hi Gijs, I just connected the cable into the correct port on the ECU, selected the ECU TYPE from the drop down selection on the touch screen and it worked. There was no need to setup any data protocols etc within the ECU at all. Regards Dave.
