NenadNR
Hi All,I have old Vipec V88 (pre 10000). I need to connect on it Race Technology DASH2 display. I also have Race Technology ECU serial interface for VIPEC and VIPEC CANDASH cable. If I understood correct I need CANPCB cable to make CAN/RS232 connection possible. Is this right or not? Dave Kriedeman
Hi there,Yes that is correct, I have had nothing to do with the DASH 2 but I assume it has RS 232 comms ability.Your ECU is pre 10 000 so it will not be CAN enabled, this is a physical modification. You need to send your ecu to link or an authorised Link/ViPEC dealer to have the CAN mod done if you want.I have done plenty.RegardsDave. NenadNR
ECU interface is RS232, so for now I don`t need CAN.Thank youNenad
Dave Kriedeman
Hi Nenad,I realise you had the RS 232 interface, was just making you aware of the physical upgrade required to activate CAN on your ecu.So which port do you have your dash connected to the same port as the programming lead or the bottom one.RegardsDave. Simon
If it's a wire in unit you just need to connect the serial interface to the ecu. I'm assuming the adapter is wired to suit? If it just has a serial plug then you need a CANSER cable which goes from ecu to 9pin D serial.
NenadNR
It is clear now. Somehow I misunderstood that pre 10000 wire in V88 need CANPCB cable like plug-in units.ECU adapter has serial plug (D-sub 9) and I made CANSER cable from CANDASH cable. I connected it to bottom CAN port.Thank you for your help.
