Thanks alot. For the moment I can just plug in my tablet for ethanol content and get a external fuel level guage until they do the upgrade..Fuel level will eventually be a necessity as Ill be removing the stock cluster.
-
Yes . I get fuel pressure , ect , iat and voltage. I haven't started the car as the car is getting a catch can upgrade.
-
I found the protocol settings in the Haltech Help file Mode: User Defined Bit Rate: 1 Mbit/s OBD: Off Channel X (any available): Transmit DisplayLink Transmit Rate: 50hz CAN ID: 1400 Format: Normal I would still like to get fuel level and enthanol content available

I only added some as when I went to Stream 1 - frame 1, it only had ECT and oil pressure. Would it be better for me to send you a log? I updated ECU software and updated to latest Haltech software I could find.
-
I tried adding more parameters to the frames in the stream 1. Still no response from dash. I tried to do a firmware update on ecu also. If the can bus was not seeing dash would the can bus gives errors?
-
Did you get this to work? Im having a simular problem.
-
RPM , Speed , ECT , IAT , Fuel pressure , Oil pressure , Lambda , Volts , Ethanol content , Fuel temp , Boost and Fuel level would be great.
-
Awesome. The car is stationary for the moment as I upgrading catch can lines and have to replace the 02 sensor for the Can lambda. I main thing I want to add is ethanol content as I run pump gas every couple months to clean fuel system. As I plan to remove the stock cluster I also want fuel level through an ANV input of ecu and streamed to dash. I will also need to modify the speed signal as VR4 use a reed switch in the dash cluster to generate the VSS signal. I plan on replacing the cable drive with a CE Lancer electric drive.

I wired the Haltech Can wires in parallel to the lambda. Close ro ecu where.I pined the lambda I connected another plug for the IC-7. The IC-7 has an internal resistor that is activated when in Link G4+ protocol. Ill check to make sure I have continuity on the cables. Also make sure the dtm pins are located properly. Thanks for the reply. As a seperate question. Does the link G4+ stream Ethanol content or will it be something that will be added to the can protocol. I was keen to have this displayed as I run flex.

Hi there, I have just got an Haltech IC-7 and am try to set up the Can network. I already had a Link Can Lambda wired to the system, so close to ECU I wired into the CAN Low/High in parallel for the dash signal The Can lambda was setup on CAN 1 ( channel 2 ). Im try to set the IC-7 on CAN 1 ( channel 1 ) Generic dash stream ID1000. I apply settings and then go the devices but it only finda the Lambda. I have set IC-7 onto the Link G4 protocol. Any ideas would be great.

I got it to start finally. I went over everything. Coils worked fine on test , but when I crank engine only 1 & 4 sparked ( joined together ) . I swapped ignition leads and 2 & 3 sparked. It was very weird , so I changed trigger setup to evo 7 and I got all 4 cylinders to spark. I reset to evo 1-6 and all of a sudden it worked. I refitted spark plugs and cranked engine. Hooray, it started. I dont understand what went wrong but its now sorted. Time to tune. Thanks for your help. The information is priceless.

I still have no tried to start again. I will give it a go on the weekend. Ill need to do the timing offset calibration first. Im hopefull as everything else test fine.

Thanks again for the help. So I removed the CAS cover and found they had covered 1 of the trigger slots. Also as for my personal knowledge the trigger wheel in the CAS has 2 pickups. I suspect outer pickups are for individual cylinder triggers and the inner is for crank location? Please expand on this or correct me if I wrong. Im trying to learn as I go. Can you see any other reason that my spark was not occurring in my setup? Thanks again.

Ill open the CAS to see if someone has modded some how. It did have a old haltech in it when it was dropped to me. Thanks alot.
-
I did add the triggers into the log and noticed that trigger 2 stayed high . I wonder if the wiring of the CAS is off. I went by the best info I could find. Its a early CAS and the plug was cut off. Ill do a trigger scope and post soon . trigger.llgx kiri.pclx

Hi there guys . I am having a problem with a first start up on a Link Monsoon on a VR4 4G63t. I have wired a new harness and everything that I have tested is functioning correctly. I can test the ignition coils via the test feature and get spark with the plugs out of the engine to confirm spark. I have also tested the trigger scope and am getting signal on both input channels. I also confirmed that I have coil voltage while cranking I have gone to do ignition calibration but I have no spark so I am getting no signal to my timing light . Can someone have a look at a log to make sure that I have not missed something in the setup? START LOG.llgx

I have checked those Bosch valves out before. I have a customer with a supra that has 1. Seems to work fine. This is for a mate so for the moment we might try ignition idle control to get it running. Thanks for the for the info.
-
Thanks for that . Some great info. I did not know thelat the monsoon could not control a stepper motor, that fixes 1 problem but gives me another. haha. I have to workoit another option for idle control. I have mostly done all the wiring on the engine, just finalizing the fuse and relay box.
-
Hi there, I wiring a Monsoon and have a question in reguards to the 14v+ in wire. Is this a battery source or igntion controlled power. The reason ask is because my VR4Link has a battery feed that is live all the time and utilises a DI for ignition status. The other question is about the Ecu Hold power. I was thinking for it to work propertly the ecu would need a constant power to the 14v+ input and the DI (ignition) would activate the stepper motor reset when igntion is deactivated and needing power to the ecu . Is this how the system works in the stand alone system .

Fantasic. I am in Austraila. I might give them a call. Thanks.

I have a shielded wire with 2 wires inside the shield. Im thinking of using it for 2 triggers. Would shielding from each other or just from interference from other signals be needed. Im trying to keep harness as small as possible.
-
Im starting to wire a Link Monsoon into a mate car .1989 VR4 engine in a CB GSR Lancer. Im going over my plan and organising wires. Im unsure of the needing to shield the CAS triggers. The reason I ask is because I also have a VR4 with a plug n play g4+ and the cas signals are not shielded in the factory wiring. When I rewired my VR4 harness I copied the factory wiring but just uses txl wires on the cas harness for reliability.
-
Do you mean directly to the battery bypassing the relay. I suspect I have a good voltage as I have rewired the engine harness and all relays are getting power from battery feed of the start motor cable. I might check the voltage at the fuse lambda module tho to make sure. If I need to buy a new sensor do I just order a Bosch LSU 4.9 . Is there different versions of the sensor.
-
It was not doing it the day before . It would just read 10.1 lambda the whole time car was on decel. I did lower the idle steps settings . I was worried the sensor may be faulty.
