No point being all disapointed, it is a very minor issue. There is something you are not doing correctly.
I have sent you another email.

Look at your start settings. They have a big effect on starting at various temperatures.
Start by turning off the Pre Crank Prime, and concentrate on the Crank Enrichment settings. When you have them set so you have the best start you can achieve, then turn the Pre Crank Prime back on and see if you can make it better.

My 2JZ-GTE VVT-i now starts faster. How fast depends on where the engine stopped. Some times it will crank a little.
Are you using Trigger 1 offset of 205 degrees, and for the VVT-i offset of 170 degrees.

Software and hardware are different, so are the features. Motec software will work with a Vipec, neither will any other software.

Email sent with the fix.

There is no such thing as a normal and performance tune. The engine is either tuned or not tuned. The fuel and ignition tables are 3D, this means the engine can be tuned to give the best fuel economy and exhaust emissions, and still help to bring on global warming by producing maximum power and pollution when you are at WOT.
If you used two different fuel octanes, then you would have different ignition table for each fuel. This can be a overlay table or a new table you switch too. This can be done with an external switch.

I think the map was made with some "secret" test software. I will convert the map to 4.6.9 and resend it to you.

How aggressive the antilag needs to be depends on the turbocharger size and the rally conditions. Best you try the settings and see how they work. If this is a road car you should be aware that antilag is very hard on turbochargers and will greatly reduce their life.
There are two methods of antilag. One for fixed throttle opening and the other for a throttle kicker solenoid. The setup for these is covered in the post on 4.6.7 firmware. http://www.vi-pec.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=599

You will need to drill a hole in either the case or the supplied molded plastic bezel, if you want to be able to access the USB connection at any time.

I will send you a map with antilag setup today.

I just tested VDash and it works. Make sure you have the same baud rate for the ECU and the VDash. Also select DataStream = Off.

The IAT does not need to be insulated. When the engine is stopped for a while, the IAT reads the hot air in the air ducting which will be hot like the ducting its self. This is what should happen. If you are getting a too rich or lean air fuel ratio on a hot start, then the IAT fuel table is not tuned correctly.
Send me your map and I will check all the settings. [email protected]
These settings are a good start.

Please fix your profie settings, by adding the ECU model and serial number.

Adam,
I am sure I shipped MAD one of the cables this week.

These are the things that you may have to change or set if using these features. Your mapping will not change.

- WARNING. Limit Control Range change. This now operates in front of the limiting value instead of after. For example an RPM limit of 6000 and control range of 200, the engine will begin limiting at 5800 and end at 6000.
- WARNING RPM Trigger 2 lockout for Subaru V7-9 trigger decoding. This will need to be initialized.
- Sync options have been combined into one mode. This sync option MUST be checked and reset to its correct setting. The following trigger modes are effected:
1 Tooth per TDC
Multi-Tooth - The sync can now be set to none, this allows 1 Tooth per TDC triggering with an offset.
Multi-Tooth / Missing
Porsche 944 (132)
BMW M3 (116)
Audi
- All new Electronic Throttle automated throttle plate position sensor (TPS) and foot position sensor (FPS) calibration and safety algorithms have been implemented. If Electronic Throttle Control is currently used a TPS calibration and FPS calibration will need to be performed to correctly setup the new safety system. See the help for more information. A new Dead Band option has been added and will need to be initialized.

This post explains why it is taking so long http://www.vi-pec.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=604
Selected dealers are testing the CLC Boost at the moment. Tests have shown there are still a few tweaks needed. These may be done and tested in the next few days.

Aux 2 is wastegate control.
If you are willing to give up the CE (Check Engine) light you could use Aux Inj 5 for the shift light.

Aux 5,6,7,8 are used for stepper idle motor on the 1990-2000 (Ver 5-6) model cars. These outputs can be used for anything if not being used for idle control.
What version or year is your Subaru.

I assume that the maps are stored and kept in memory using a built in battery in the Vipec ECU.
However 6 months might have been too long and it's now completely empty.
This is not possible...

I have been trying to find information on these coils so I can give you an answer, but have not found anything. I think the coils have a base that is the igniter. If this is the case and there is no dwell control smarts, then the Vipec can drive them. If the igniters are not "dumb" then you would need to replace them with a CDI or Bosch dumb igniters.

The ECU uses the main ignition table for the cranking ignition timing. The values at 0 to 500 rpm may be too high.
If you email me the map I will have a look at this and other settings.

Make sure the map you are opening off line is from a ECU with 4.6.x firmware. The same if working online, the ECU must have 4.6.x firmware.
I dont know how to do the screen shot to show you.You need screen capture software. I use SnagIt.

Your translation also works....
Trouble with throttle response
in ViPEC V Series

I have looked at the map and recommended changes. The main problem I see is the engine could be tuned to lean at low rpm and 90 to 130 kpa. This is based on the values in the target AFR table. Being supercharged means these fuel table cells are important for low rpm when you open the throttle.
