  1. Anders,

I do not remember the email.

The M3 has 116 teeth on the crank. Also a single tooth on the crank. Using these you cannot run sequential. By adding a camshaft speed based signal like Miguel is doing, you can run sequential.

If you were to make a crank trigger for the engine, then 24 tooth is recommended along with a cam signal. Missing teeth trigger wheels have no advantage when you have a cam sync signal. They should only be used if the engine came with them, or you want to run group/wasted with no cam signal.

  2. Q1. Depends how much boost you need to get off the line.

Q2. The digital inputs will read variable reluctor and hall effect sensor signals.

Q3. SR20 maps are available. They are unlikely from an engine with the same injectors.

  3. Yes you could go back to the old software and firmware. The new software and firmware features more then make up for the play back feature. The new software lets you look at data in many other ways. Maybe you should spend a little more time with the new software, before going back to what was horrible software.

When the "play back" is added it will not be like the old software, where it automatically runs data log. It will let you move though the data using the keyboard, and a ghost box will move around what every table you have in view. This is the most requested feature on the too do list. The requests for automatic play back are very low. By stepping though the data manually you can use this feature as a useful tool for diagnostics.

  4. Software:

Trigger Setup -> Trigger Mode = Subaru EJ25 AVCS

VVT Control -> VVT Setup -> Cam Control Mode = Subaru AVCS EJ25

    Wiring:

    On the Subaru harness connector

    1. Remove the wire in B1 (wire not used any more)

    2. Move the wire in E9 to B1

    3. Move the wire in E2 to E9

  5. Make sure the V44 has the peak and hold injector drivers. V44 with P&H drivers have a Power LED on the connector end of the case. If yours does not have the P&H then, 2.2 ohm injectors will require a resistor pack.

Double the injector size will mean a the master will be half, but in your case E85 has a different stoichiometric value, so a slightly bigger value will be needed. Try a master of 7.0. Just do not accelerate hard on the 45 minute drive.

  6. I am a void when it comes to reed switches, so I would recommend you use the 5v pullup. Other option is to try the internal +12 pullup and be willing to buy a new sensor if you kill it.

Sorry I cannot be of more help.

  7. There is no feature like this at the moment.

If the frequency was the same and the PW changed, then you could try making your own by connecting a digital input to one of the injector outputs and select the digital input as speed. Then select an Aux output as GP PWM and scale the Y axis as speed.

  8. Software and Firmware version 4.7.0 has been released. You can download the software from here http://www.vi-pec.com/page_files/software.htm

This is a list of the changes and new features. http://www.vi-pec.com/page_files/FirmwareChanges.html

The main new feature is a long awaited closed loop boost control Use this PDF file as a guide to setting up the closed loop boost. http://www.vi-pec.com/techdata/ClosedLoopBoostControl.pdf

  9. Marcel,

I have been in the USA for SEMA. I am behind on emails, plus some were missed. I have looked at your map and there are quite a few things not correct compared to one of these engines I recently tuned.

Ignition Edge must be Rising not Falling

    Trigger offset should be -97

    Trigger 1 and 2 thresholds should be 0.5 1.0 1.5 2.0 2.5 3.0 3.5

You have multi group injection selected. Select sequential. The master should be around 22 with the stock injectors.

I have emailed you the map from my car to look at.

    Ray.
