  1. Hi Sterling, I've trolled through you thread and that has been very helpful. Adam truly is 'the man'. A friend here has an 89 928 with an Extreme ECU and I hope to check some of his wiring.
  2. ok, I have bought the Bosch pressure/temperature combined sensor. I already have a Link temp senor in the sump but it can be a spare. Thanks for the .PCLR file it looks much better. How many sensors can be run from each +5 Volt supply?
  3. Thanks Adam, I just found info on the cas, Bosch 0 232 101 013, it says pin 1=+5v, pin 2=signal, pin 3=shield. Can I connect this unit to 8V [I have nothing connected there], or must it have a 5V supply. The oil pressure sensor is s stock 928 late addition with earth, gauge & low press pins. I chose it over my stock because it had a dedicated earth. What unit would you suggest? I'll fit what ever works. Yes, all fans are controlled by pwm controllers, fuel pump to be triggered by Thunder to BCM and powered by PDM, same for +14v aux 9/10 & aux 17/18. I don't know why I had aux 1 connected? it's not in my table, I think I may have been thinking of fuel pump trigger but then it should go to the BCM. I have not yet got a grip of pull up/down resistors, I see their use but? Will you send me the .pclr file with 8 injector and coil divers please?
  4. Thanks Adam. I was amazed at the Thunder's capacity to meet my needs but I'm more amazed by the fantastic service. 6.4 litre naturally aspirated v8, 8 COPs, 2 E-throttles, 2 knock sensors, 2 wide band O2 sensors, 2 Link EGT sensors, Porsche cam and crank angle sensors. 5. Thanks Adam, that is a very generous offer. Yes, I do have the Link Thunder but it is still on my bench, un-powered. What I really want is a fee for service review of my planned connections. I can not expect it to be done free. I have a table of my proposed connections for plugs A, B, C and D [which I have]. Plus I have gone through the sample Thunder in PCLink to what I think is appropriate for my setup. I think I have all my components and all my sensors here now and I'm doing the finishing touches to my wiring schematic, so I'm getting close to cutting and soldering but I want it to be correct. My plan is to do as much of the wiring on the motor while it is still out of the car, on the stand, just for ease.
  6. I'm trying to create a base map from the Thunder sample by adding and removing setting to match my setup. I'm stuck on changing the sample from 6 to 8 cylinders that my V8 needs. Injector drivers 7 and 8 are 'off' and locked??? Ignition driver 7 is set to 'EThrottle relay 1" and Ignition Driver 8 is set to 'Engine Fan 1' and both of thee are locked??? how can I get these to represent my 8 sequential injectors and 8 COPs?

    Thanks Adam.

I'm fitting a Link G4+ Thunder to a 6.5 Litre Porsche 928 and I'm wondering about the importance of fuel temperature. This engine is normally aspirated and will run on normal 100 octane pump fuel. Should I fit a fuel temperature sensor [I have fitted a fuel pressure sensor] and if so, what would best suit the Thunder ECU?
  9. My next wiring issue is the Hall sensor on the camshaft, Bosch 0 232 101 013, which is a standard fit on the 87-95 Porsche 928 plus a few others. Also the Crank angle sensor, Bosch 0 261 210 002, a standard fit to my engine. lastly, I hope, the knock sensors, Bosch 0 261 231 036. These are all 3 pin units. The Porsche wiring diagram shows then connected to the stock controller where the wires disappear. Any help greatly appreciated.
  10. The E-Throttle pinout I'm using is 1=motor (-), 2=TPS (-), 3=TPS (+), 4=motor (+), 5=TPS 2 (out), 6=TPS 1 (out). I think TPS 1 is main and TPS 2 is sub?? +5V is fed from Plug D, pin 4 for both E-Throttle bodies and the 2 +5V inputs [1&2] of the FPS. I HOPE THAT PLUG d, PIN 4 IS OK WITH THE 4 FEEDS? I forgot to say, the FPS grounds [both 3&5] are fed from plug D, pin 5 Gnd Out.
  11. Thanks. I found the numbers on the plug. With this info, I have come up with a wiring plan for the looms A & B I have, plus the plugs C&D to connect to the 2 Bosch E-throttle bodies [0 280 750 0017] and the Bosch FPS [0 205 001 034], as follows; plug A, #22 An Volt 2, E-Throttle 1 TPS 2 pin 5 plug A, #33 An Volt 3, E-Throttle 1 TPS 1 pin 6 plug B, #18 Aux 9, E-Throttle 1 Motor (+) pin 4 plug B, #23 An Volt 8, E-Throttle 2 TPS 2 pin 5 plug B, #24 An Volt 9, E-Throttle 2 TPS 1 pin 6 plug B, #26 Aux 10, E-Throttle 1 Motor (-) pin 1 plug B, #31 An Volt 10, E-Throttle 1 TPS (-) pin 2 plug B, #32 An Volt 11, E-Throttle 2 TPS (-) pin 2 plug B, #33 An Volt 5, Foot Position Sensor AP Main pin 4 plug D, #4 +5V, E-Throttle 1&2 TPS (5v+) pin 3 plug D, #5 Gnd Out, FPS pin 3&5 ground plug D, #20 Aux 17, E-Throttle 2 Motor (+) pin 4 plug D, #21 Aux 18, E-Throttle 2 Motor (-) pin 1 Does this seem correct?
  12. Thanks. I found the numbers on the plug.
  13. Thanks for that. The wire colours don't match my pedal sensor though. Mine are solid colours as follows in order; Brown, Grey, Yellow, White, Green, Pink They come out of the sensor in a straight line as above and go to a 6 pin plug.
  14. Hi, this is my first time here, so please be gentle! I have a G4+ Thunder that I want to connect to a Bosch DBW pedal sensor from a VW Jetta, Bosch part # 0 205 001 0344. It will drive 2 x Bosch E-throttle bodies. I need the pinout for the pedal sensor and any advice on the connections I should use on the Thunder.
