I dont see anything obvious in the log, it appears to have everything it should need.  The throttle is potentially open more than it needs to be, and although that shouldnt prevent it from starting, with that combined with your slow cranking RPM you dont have any manifold vacuum being generated which means you will have less fuel vapour to promote combustion. It would be worth a shot of starter fluid to see if that gives any signs of life.

Hey Adam thank you, I did and I get no response from the spray, I also hear a poof sound when I put the key on the ” on” position it doesn’t always happen but it smells like smoke when it happens.

Heyy my bad I just briefly viewed your log and cal file. Looked like the vehicle was cranking over just not firing. Maybe I missed something. Im pretty experienced with evos, just not extremely experienced with the link stuff yet. Although I have my own vehicle running pretty great, spotting issues in other cal files is difficult. I know the evo 8s had some ignition issues. Im currently dealing with one right now actually on stock ecu. Best to start off with all of your general checks and go from there. If you get it figured out, post up the fix so i can pay attention to it. Thanks and best of luck.

    Will do!

Hey looked over your cal and log. Im still learning all of this stuff as well, but compared to my evo 9, your idle base control table values look super low. Every car will be different but maybe try raising the values there. Mine taper from 75 cold temps to 50 when hot. Give that a shot and see if it will stay running enough to fine tune your idle. Hope that helps and hope you get it figured out.

Thanks man, problem is car doesn't turn on at all.

  4. Hello wondering if anyone can give me advice , just did the build on my evo 9, I’m running link g4x pnp, car has fuel, car has spark, car is timed, injectors are new and working fine, (fuel on piston) there’s nothing coming up on the ecu saying something isn’t connected, everything is fine…. But it won’t start like if there’s no spark like if the key isn’t registering idk what else to do. Crank/cam sensors are also good . I’m lost , any advise will be very much appreciated thank you in advanced

The only difference between the two base maps is the MAP sensor calibration, so you can load either one.  Pretty sure that ecu you have is a 4bar one.  Load either map then check if MAP matches BAP in the software, if not then change the map sensor calibration to the alternative.

There you go being awesome again! Thank you, I have no idea how to do so. I am trying to get this car running so I can finally get it tuned. Last person who had it really messed up a lot of things on it that I been fixing as I go.

  6. Hello everyone I am trying to download a base map for my evo 9 and there are 2 options. One is 7bar and the other doesn’t have that in it, I’m guessing it’s a 4bar. I don’t know much about this ecu so I am reaching out to the pros to find out which one I need. It doesn’t say anything on the board btw..

Note the ECU only outputs a ground signal that goes to the fuel pump relay, it does not supply power to anything.  It sounds like you are expecting something different?

I have stitched together a few pages from the factory wiring diagram to show how the stock FP circuit works in the pic below (click on it for a bigger version).

12V comes from the battery at top right to FPump relay 1, this relay turns on with the ign switch - it is not controlled by the ecu.  When ign is on 12V will come out of FP relay 1, pin 1 and supplies 12V to pin 4 on FPump relay 2, when the ECU grounds the Ign 3 pin this relay closes and the fuel pump will run.  FPump relay 3 just controls whether the power from relay 2 goes straight to the fuel pump for high speed mode (green route) or through the fuel pump resistor for low speed mode (purple route).

Thank you so much! I found out that I do have power at the ignition wire (black and white)#2 but somewhere in the middle it gets lost and my relay isn’t getting that power on #3 for my first relay… and same for the 2nd relay but it has very lil light and my tester is very dim….. here’s the crazy part. The both click when I turn the key to On pos, so somewhere from the ignition to relay 1 pin 3 there’s a short….Previous owner hacked a lot of wires in the car. I was thinking of using pin 21/ing3 as a trigger to my double pumps. Which is the oem output for fuel pump

Only Aux 9 & 10 on the expansion ports can be used as outputs.

Can you not use the existing fuel pump control wires - Ign 3 or Aux 12?

Thanks for the reply, on the ecu harness I am getting power for that wire that goes into the g4x, a direct wire from the ignition might work but I would need to relay and fuse it. I am trying to keep it oem and not hardwire anything. I’m going to look at aux9 to see if it’s taken up thanks

  9. Hello, I am having a fuel issue with my evo where the white oem power wire isn’t getting any power to start the fuel pump. I am just going to use the g4x to trigger the relay. Aux 10 and 11 are already being used idk on what previous owner hacked all these wires and I do not want to touch anything. Does anyone know how and where can I connect a wire to trigger the relay for the fuel pump?
