  1. Hey Ross - I had trouble with wiring the pins in the plug for my fuel pressure sensor as well . On mine two pins were touching giving all sorts of voltage errors and it also made other sensors read wrong also . I think the 5v was touching the ground . Double check the plug pins .
  2. Thanks for the answer and the info - cheers .

    Trigger wheel

I have a 60-2 trigger wheel on my car and have a single tooth trigger in the dizzy for a sync . All works very well and no errors . But is it possible to run a trigger wheel with 2 evenly spaced gaps 180 degrees apart . My thinking is if i could run this pattern it would sync within 360 degrees . If a gap on the wheel occurs and no dizzy sync pulse occurs or if the gap on the wheel occurs and then a dizzy sync pulse does occur the ecu will know where it is in the cycle and it should sync within 360 - Should it not ? Would this work on a link G4+ Atom ?
  4. If you dont mind me jumping in on this . Can you explain why the injector pairs are not wired to suit the firing order . In the example for the v10 - the 4th injector to fire feeds the 3rd and 4th cylinders in the firing order . This never made any sense to me . If they follow the firing order at least 5 out of 10 can be timed to receive fuel perfectly the other 5 of each pair receive fuel 72 degrees behind the lead injector . What is the logic behind the example given please . ?
  5. Thank Adam - Ill try a mig tip since i have those at work

    Cam overlap

Hi- the cam im running in my V8 has alot of overlap and at certain cruising revs the map fluctuates and this sets up a sort of pulsing that continues if i slowly put my foot down . I guess it effects fueling/ timing and even fuel pressure to an extent . Im running a link Atom g4+ and the engine is turboed . is there any way i can dampen the pulsing to the map sensor or can i set up a 4d fuel map to overlay the problem areas at specific points based on TP and revs since it only happens at steady state conditions ?
  7. Hi- i 2nd the ecotrons can ALM . Have had one on my car for about a year - Zero problems .
  8. Thanks for that Adam - I have wideband set up via can . I might still try it just to see how it works - Thanks -
  9. Sorry to dig this old post up - But does this mean that on a atom g4+ with cll enabled ( stoich mode ) it will access the afr/lambda target table and make fuel corrections in real time ?
  10. What if you could tune by voice . Have a mic connection and for example on fuel say - MARK - UP or DOWN - and SAVE . It could mark the active cell . Raise or lower the amount in the cell by a pre determined amount ( say 0.1 or 0.5 lambda or Whatever you want ) and obviously - save . Safe tuning on the fly - Can you do it ?
  11. Thanks for the reply - ill try it out .
  12. Please excuse me if i miss understand - first paragraph . 50 kpa row with 3ms delivered . Then you throttle the engine back to 40 kpa and get 2.4 ms delivered . It then goes on to say - at the same time we have throttled the motor to 40 kpa - and now you need 2.0 ms delivered .Why?- Sorry but what am i missing ?
  13. Hi- Im not quiet as far into my tuning as you but the way you are working through your tuning sounds very similar to what im doing . Im only posting a reply because i have the same thing happening to me . I just haven't logged enough to to accurately state how much it is affecting my afrs . But it certainly is . So im hoping someone can answer you . Cheers - Ken
  14. Hi- If its any help with regard to 4.9 sensor life - i have an ecotronz ALM with can set up on a link G4+ . I have run this on my car for a year now ( weekends mainly ) and it has worked faultlessly . One feature worth noting is the unit has a 30 second delay built into the sensor heating during which time the display on a separate gauge shows battery voltage . Cant say for sure if this has helped sensor life but it goes towards what others have posted .
  15. Hi - yes and have achieved good results so far - was just a thought really . Thanks for your replies - Im happy with my purchase and am about 90% tuned i guess . Learning alot and getting it sorted . Cheers - Ken
  16. Hey Adam - Yip did sort those keys out on the laptop and the misses is getting pretty good at sorting the tuning while i drive - But yeah i was thinking something like that - that i could alter as i was driving would be great . But with digital arrow keys that made small changes as you tapped the keys up or down . If i managed to find /build such a box could it be set up to work with a link G4+ ?
  17. Hi - Is there a way a small hand held controller could be wired permanently to adjust fuel numbers on the fly . Id imagine the controller to have - Connect online . Arrow keys to raise or lower fuel numbers in any cell that you happen to be on .A save key .And a disconnect offline key . Or is there any way i can make this work . I was driving the other day and if this was available it would have made fuel adjustments so easy . Thanks - Ken
  18. Hi - I have just set up a v8 to run semi sequential using an Atom G4+ . My engine runs a dizzy but i assume with a LS engine you are running wasted spark as the atom only has 4 ignition drives . Im new to this so im just saying how i set mine up . My firing order is 18436572 . But i have entered it as 15263748 as the ecu will recognise the 1-2-3-4 only' the injectors are fired evenly . And so i have paired 1-8 4-3 6-5 7-2 . to injector drives 1 2 3 4 . Make sense so far ? . As for the spark my distributor determines the actual firing sequence . If you are using 4 dual coils - set them up to suit your firing order . Hope this helps . I have only set this up on a test engine on a stand and im currently fitting this to my car at the moment . The engine started well and idled better as compared to group fire but i have not as yet road tested it so you will have to take this as just an idea i guess - either way good luck . So just to add a bit more - Looking at your firing order if you entered it like it really is i think you end up with an oddly timed and fired injection sequence . To my thinking- if you enter a firing order to give you evenly fired injectors you just have to keep track of that so you dont trip yourself up when pairing injectors and coils .
  19. Hi - On an Atom G4+ can the closed loop lambda option - Auto mode wide band - be unlocked ? Thanks - Ken
  20. Hi - Just a bit of follow up - Got my v8 running great on semi sequential injection . Starts quiet quickly idles smoothly and runs nice . Thanks for your help .
  21. Hi- Thanks for your answer . One more question then . On another recent post Scott answered a question basically saying they have a pre programed ford timing feature that will achieve this type of startup . Can it be applied to other engines ? Mine uses VR pickups for both crank and cam triggers so it might be beneficial. How could this be done ? Thanks - Ken . ( Sorry if im hijacking but seems relevant )
  22. Hi- can someone explain how starting an engine on wasted spark and group fuel results in improved starting . How firing the plugs on the exhaust and firing the fuel injectors at an imprecise time is better for starting ? This is offered for ford ba and toyota 2gr-fe engines in the latest version for the link g4+. Thanks - Ken .
  23. This topic has been discussed before . Simon has given examples of semi sequential injection and to me there seems to be benefits with regard to each injector drive firing at 90 crank degrees instead of the first 2 drives firing and then the next set 270 degrees after that . The fuel fired from the 2nd injector in the pair ( for a v8 ) has less time to condense on the port walls . Ive been told by simon in the past how to achieve this with an Atom G4+ on a v8 i just need a bit more info on the cam sync - trigger 2 - Thanks - Ken Sorry got my crank degrees wrong . With semi sequential each drive fires 180 degrees apart ( with the "off" cylinder being only 90 degrees out for paired sets ) .And yip with group injection each pair of drive ( 4 injectors for a v8) being fired 360 degrees apart . Does this make sense ?

    Trigger 2 help

Hi - Im just sorting my triggers out for my v8 to run semi sequential injection with an Atom G4+ . I have a 60-2 crank trigger and mag pickup for trigger 1 . I am going to use a distributor on this engine and can use the 8 point reluctor ( modified ) for the cam sync . So my question is - If i want to set it up with " cam level " sync for faster starting do i grind 7 teeth of the reluctor leaving 1 . Or grind 1 off leaving 7 . Which is better ? I understand i have to align both crank and cam "gaps" in the toothed wheels to achieve the quickest starting . At the moment the engine running group fire injectors so any advise to help with the change over would be great . Thanks - Ken
