Sounds as if the coil circuit has a constant +12v feed and not a switched feed.
no sir, i wired through relay that comes on and off with injectors relay (so that positive power source for relay power feed is not constant but switched)... but does not come off when vanos solenoid is connected.

OK so i have such issue with mostly all bmws
when i wire Vanos solenoid to ECU does not matter is it single vanos, double vanos M54 or S54 there is same issue
to not make things complicated lets talk about M52 vanos solenoid that has just switched +12v through relay and ground control
when i use OEM wiring and leave +12v feed from injector relay, i can not turn ignition off when solenoid is connected to ecu, it back feeds everything
if i start engine, turn ignition off, engine is still running and meanwhile if i disconnect vanos solenoid it will shut everything off (as it should when ignition is off)
i'm talking about E36, E34, E46, E39 cars
it is not car / chassis specific it is wiring related.
i wired relay for vanos solenoid separately which does feed solenoid separately and relay activated by injector power relay.
but still does same thing it leaves ignition ON (but not always)
i put diode on power wire between vanos and relay.. worked for day and then it did same thing and now it does always - leave ignition on
how do u guys solve this issue?
used exactly those methods of wiring as well - no luck

post your file
dont u have clutch switch wired to ecu ? as digital input
-
im going to install 60-2 trigger wheel on this engine and count from there
will i still need custom TDC table?
yes pclink is 5.6.5.3338
can you kindly help with custom DTCs?
-
here you go
as u see firing order 2 and 3 are set to 0
i dont understand why it sets so...it is link G4+ storm (black one)
-
i was checking with timing light and turning motor with starter motor... it was acting really strange.. on 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8 degree offset changes there was no affect on timing by checking with timing light on engine and pulley.
i made custom marks on both sides to check what timing looks like and where it goes... but it works really strange
also when i change offset link says that value is out of range and if i want to clear tables or no.. no matter i click yes or no firing order 2 and 3 cylinders are setting to 0
why is that happening? it does not matter i will write negative value in offset or positive... still says value is out of range and is asking if u want to zero tables..
any ideas?

has anybody calibrated base timing on those cars?
can anybody tell me what is correct offset for it to reach 0?
thanks

Here is a base with VVT.
thank you very much for kind reply. i already managed to make car run fine
was interested if u have managed to make work following functions and how:
sport button
Oil Temp
Temp Leds > as shift light or just as temp leds
DSC / DSC button ? -
im looking for base settings for link to run M54 / S54 AC properly as well as AC Fan
please kindly post how do u set it up?
-
Hello
i'm looking for S54 base map where vanos and cam sensor stuff is properly setup so i can use it as base. please kindly post if u have any.
thanks

thank you simon
can you tell me about trigger settings for this setup?

Injector 3 to Injectors 9&4
Injector 4 to Injectors 7&2

thanks

Hello,
i would like to know opinion of experienced users how to setup rally style antilag on evo 4-6 where we are running mechanical throttle
idea is to keep boost off throttle for fast response. please share your experience, settings, and how do u setup system itself, is there extra solenoid / valve needed for air or stock IAC Valve is enough?
ECU is G4+ Plug in evo 4-8
thanks in advance
