The LS3 doesnot have VVT.  I believe only a L99 does.  But the L99 also has the weird "active fuel management" where they basically turn off 4 cylinders under cruise conditions.  We cant control that system.

As far as I know we have no info on the L99 VVT.  It is unknown whether we can control it or not.  If you do a triggerscope I can at least tell you whether we have a trigger pattern that will support a moving cam.

    what is this then?

we have same engine here that does have VVT on front cover right next to cam sensor.

  2. speed can not be displayed as well. i tried selecting speed source as RR RL FR FL as speed sources in ecu one by one.. i see speed on ecu but display shows 0 all the time no matter what i select as driven or non driven wheel..
    any pointers?

File attached.  The RPM limit and most other dash lights are controlled by the virtual auxiliaries.  The map has the RPM limit lights change based on engine temp as they did originally.  Coolant, oil press and CE lights are also on the virtual auxes.

    E46 S54 startup with CAN.pclr

where and how are Virtual aux-es linked to CAN or Check light outputs?

how is it setup where to look for logic?

    thanks

The CAN and dash work in Lambda.  So it should show 1.2Lambda, not 12.  Are you using generic dash stream or the MXS stream?  MXS stream should work correctly.

It is selected “Transmit DISPLAY LInk” there is no mxs in Mode list.

  5. very strange issue

1st gen Atom does not want to communicate to pclink.

when we give 12V and grounds to connector blue led comes on and flashing, laptop detects Linkecu and driver with no issue, but pclink does not want to communicate no matter what laptop, what windows, what cable will we try, still same issue.

tried to powering it on car, tried powering it up on bench.

still same, no results. ""Unable to connect to the ECU but USB connection is present. Please cycle the power to the ECU."

previous owner said that ecu lost connection with pclink itself and never connected back.

we checked board physically - no damage, no burnt tracks or something.

    any ideas or recommendations?

  6. has anybody done variable launch control on Xtreme or Storm?

i was thinking to do using Digital input where 0 would be preset 3000rpm and 1 would be 5000rpm  but what if i want to let customer choose 1000-7000 range whatever he wants 1000steps is that doable?

hm or i can use external voltage regulator 0-5v adjustable one, wire it do analog input. and make launch rpm limit map Analog input scaled by voltages 0-5  3000-8000rpm

    i guess this should work?

  7. Hello

does anybody run Toyota 1ZZ / 2ZZ / Yaris / ECHO ignition coils without igniter (Transistor) ?

i have tried to wire them to Xtreme ecu and they dont want to fire... LS2 coil runs directly connected and fires fine but toyota coils doesnt.

i thought they had igniter integrated?

    any input?

wiring pinout is correct for sure. and there is 12V, GND and signal coming from ecu.

    thanks

what do you mean by this?

Did you swap out your ECU for another one, but put the same config on it (so same car/wiring/config, just different ECU), or did you put your config into a mates car+ecu? (so different wiring/car/engine)

i put different ecu on same car and copied tune from ecu with rpm issues to another one.. so now car runs just fine as before...

  9. tried:
    triggerscope - looks fine
tried setting trig 2 sync mode to "none" - still same
checked one by one trigger sensors and replaced both sensors few times
rewired sensors directly from ecu to sensor separately to exclude any mechanical issues - still same
Adamw told me to check for broken sensor ground wire - jumpered both sensor grounds on ecu and still same.
upgraded firmware in ecu, loaded tune file in ecu, went through all settings - still same , cranks and shows crazy rpm figures
copied same tune file to another ecu, and car fired up nicely and runs smoothly, no rpm issues at all.
put old ecu back, still same rpm issue.

there was no work done on car, it was just parked and for no reason started to act like that. never seen anything like that.

  10. Hello

i have really strange issue on car which was running perfectly fine, i removed ecu from car, by disconnecting both connectors of loom, connect it back and car does not start.

i see rpm signal is flactuating badly

    what i tried so far:

    1) replaced crank sensor 4 times

    2) checked gap between sensor and trigger wheel (0.8mm)

    3) checked cam trigger signal

    4) disconnected all sensors from car (map, pressure sensors) also including fuel pump relay

    5) reloaded tune again and stored it

    6) tried to play with rpm filtering and trigger filtering

    7) turned off injectors

    8) turned off ignition coils

    9) changed wiring from trigger1 to ecu

    10) checked 5v to trigger 1 sensor - all good and does not disappear when cranking

    11) checked ground and checked signal wires also rewired but still same

    datalogged

    captured via trigger scope

    nothing helped so far...

here are all kind of logs and screens

please kindly see and suggest what im missing here...

  11. Does Launch control turn off itself after several seconds of banging?

is that option that does ecu or i am setting up something wrong?

i had several times issue that i was banging on the line for more than 5-7 seconds or so anyways longer than usual and it just stopped to bang :)

    so car bogged :)

A few question in regards to your map

Your dead time table has a Y axis of MAP and adding more at higher load?

Your battery voltage from the log looks like it takes 10 sec to reach normal voltage. Your AFR changes a bit during this.

this is not completed tune file, im trying to figure out throttle issues before i will go for full adjustments ;)
