Hi Mini34. Yes the aux 6 & 7 are through the factory pins in the harness.
You can leave narrow band sensor there. Use a expansion harness and wire the analog wire from the new Wide Band to the corresponding AN Volt channel. You can then setup the wide band control.

Many thanks Scott, very clear.
One final question: How does the tablet connect to the ECU if I would like to use PC Link? Is it a simple USB?
Thanks,
I believe you can use a usb to wifi adapter. You can use many different platforms of tablets for the units our there. Like Scott mentioned. This makes things so easy!

Dragartist,
We are running a few tablets currently. You can populate a OBD2 plug say from a junk yard harness and set it up anywhere in the vehicle. We use a wifi/ BT adapter to this plug that goes straight to the tablet. We were having some trouble at first but now have the bugs worked out. Communication speed is going to be the key here. Most factory vehicle scanners have a pretty fast transfer rate. Making sure the transfer rate from the ECU to scanner is correct is key. You will get broken data or very delayed data coming through. Check out the PLX KIWI device. I love this device as you can also overlay track data to it from your app. It is great.
Let me know if you need any help. PM me or email me [email protected]

Hi Ebo,
I have run Tephra as well and tuned a lot of cars with opensource. The dead time table will stay the same. The target lamba table will stay the same as well, unless you decide to change current lamba for MGP. Fuel table will change a little once tuned. The biggest change will come from the fuel charge temp. approximation table. This table tells the ecu weather to look at IAT or ECT in a percentile value. This equation bases the air charge temp going into the engine more accurately. IAT and ECT comp. tables will need to be Zeroed when running in Modeled mode.

To answer your question yes you can. I just finished tuning a twin charged 1jzvvti and wanted to use a electronic throttle as the bypass for the charge side of supercharger/ intake side of turbo. I could have controlled the efficiency range a lot better of the supercharger feeding the turbo. Also really reducing lag in certain situations. You can easily set up some antilag type system as well.
If you have anymore questions please feel free to PM me ore email me. [email protected]

I would agree with you in every way. Getting into factory engine calibration type equations, without the crazy algorithms we all wonder about. LOL so from what I am understanding is you want to better control pulsed width in certain conditions? Sounds like using a injector EQ table dependent upon heat soak. At which point I would put a temp sensor for fuel at the rail to try and determine injector tip heat soak. You could very well set another table using 5d and add this. Would be interesting to use as well as what you are testing.
I really like the way you are going about this. Post up some data or email me logs. [email protected] I would be very interested to see what you are coming up with.
Well done!

Can you post a picture of what is exactly going on? Seems you may just have a trigger issue? If you have done the feature unlock. It is most likely that the computer has been unlocked.

Hi JT,
I would say you are on the right track by asking questions here. I do believe that you will need to use an aftermarket map sensor. If you have a wideband controller. Take full advantage and run the analog channel to the expansion plug. Buying an expansion harness is easy and will make life easy when adding additional sensors/ controls. I also like to run oil temp, oil pressure, and fuel pressure to set up additional safety within the ECU.
I run a 04' time attack STI and am a tuner / dealer for Link. The biggest thing you want to ensure with this engine is safety. Adding those additional sensors will help. At the end of the day it's how you implement the sensors to be correctly read by the ECU. Setup is everything. Their is a lot more to do within the ecu. This will get you on the right track though.
Hopefully this was helpful.

Hi
I have a problem with Engine Fan Trim & Engine Fan status that is being activated 10 degrees above the actual Fan activation temperature,
my Fan switch on is at 85 but Engine Fan Status and Engine fan trim get active at 95 as per attached log
any suggestions
Note: I am using a Red box Extreme on my BMW L6 engine
Can not see the log. Can you email it to me at [email protected] I will look at the log and see if I can help. Send the config. file as well.
Sincerely,
Rich

Hi Davidv,
Is the reason you are using the table because it simply will not hold a quality AFR around your idle? Posting a log would be very useful. In 4d and 5d mode you can switch this as table activation or always on. You will need to setup the x and y axis of the conditions you would want this to be active. When in the overlay setting 4d / 5d. You add a 6th dimension and the table becomes much larger.
To answer your question it will not extrapolate if you have your axis maxed out for 1200 rpm. So in overlay it will simply add a percentage to the main fuel table. So at 1100 rpm at 16.8 kpa, you may have a value of 32. With a number like 10 in the table. This would be 10% + 32 = 35.2 would now be the calculated value for that table. I would assume you will have better luck in interpolate mode. This will allow a ratio table that you can control via what x and y axis conditions you would like. So a percentage of how much of table 1 to 2 is being used. Easily after 1200 rpm you could set this to just table 1.
Hope this helps and I answered your questions.

I have ID 1000cc injector in my evo 9 with 2.2 kit
- How to get Master fuel value
- Injector Dead time (can entering value from the 1st picture ?)
- Injector Short Pulse (can leave it to 0 ?)Ebo,
If you need any help with base file setup let me know. I have tuned multiple Evo 8 and 9 units. You will want to account for engine specs. like Scott mentioned. I personally love the modeled fuel equation. It works so well and the results when setup correctly are very consistent. Just takes a little more time and logging.
We can do some e-tuning to help you out as well. Great choice of injectors!
Sincerely,
Rich

What ECU are you running? You asking what wires come out of the MXL? You using a expansion harness? If it is the MXL Pista it is pins 3A and 4A. 3 is the - side and 4 is + side.
-
Yes you will need an expansion cable to wire in the Analog wire from your afr controller into the ecu. Then just configure what analog channel you are using.
Hope this helped.

I am Working with a 1jzgte with factory Knock sensors. My question is:
In the storm programming, one of my options to pick from for sensors is the 6khz narrow band. I read somewhere that these 1jz engines most likely use the 6khz narrows. Can anyone confirm what the factory Knock is on these puppies?!
Hi ChaserDreams,
You are going to want and use the 7khz setting for this and make sure the narrow band is applied. You will need to also adjust the gain to set the noise level appropriately. Once that is set you can then start to adjust the knock threshold per cylinder. If you need more help let me know and I will help you out as best I can.
[email protected] if you need help with the base.....
cheers,
Rich

Hi everybody. I have problem with rpm readings of 3gen LS1. The problem is that on starter and low idle readings are correct . But on high rpm is mismatch, for example the motor is running around 2k but the tacho reads around 3500 on 4k reads about 6000 rpm . I have selectoed LS1 3-12 and 5-10, LT1 , multitooth triggers and tried different filtering but there is no change . The car runs smooth afr is constant the only problem is the RPM readings .
ecu: Link G4+ atom 4 cylinder wasted spark mode
crankshaft position sensor is connected with 5v Power supply .
You have a atom running a LS1? or did I read this wrong? Do you have the cam sensor hooked up? You might try multi 24 cam X1. Do you have the grey sensor for the crank? Obviously the 0-12v tach output is not sending the correct signal.
-
You should absolutely be able to tune VE with this. I have tuned a few. Setting up the flex fuel system is going to be easy compared to other ECU's. Do you have a base file? Make sure to enter all the information correct for the fuels you are using.
If you need any help post a base file for us to take a look at.
Cheers

I will update tomorrow on status. The car was seeing RPM, Cam, and Crank signal.... it wasnt syncing and it was showing weird timing errors that were not normal vs the day before when it was running. I am HOPING it was something stupid as we just removed all factory wiring and did a full milspec chassis and engine harness. If I have the same problem I will update with a file and logs of cranking along with a video of the runtime values.
Be sure that the cam sensor has not gone bad. Also check the cam timing with a light to see where it's at to verify timing. Check TDC. It is possible it may have moved and I have seen this before. Hopefully it was a wiring error.
Keep us posted.

I think you could just connect to an ignition switched 12v+ and use a GP PWM function on an available aux output channel (driving low). You can set the frequency to constant, or if you want to experiment use the frequency table.
This is how I have set it up and it works wonders!
