  1. I think i'm having the same issue on my RX7 S7+ PNP, I tried to connect the LINK CAN Lambda last night without any success I had the same issue with the AIM MXS dash. After playing with the dash config it became apparent the dash is connected as the configured channels were updating as expected (IAT, ECT, TPS etc.), but when configuring the CAN channels I couldn't get the PC link software to detect any CAN devices. I haven't yet started the engine to see if the CAN Lambda is indeed working although the PC link would have me believe it hasn't connected. I will check the CAN run time values, power & cable continuities as mentioned above tonight to see if errors are present.
  2. Cool man, sounds like you've been getting out there and enjoying the car. Isn't it funny how breaking the car miles from home opens the opportunity to meet like minded people and make new friends. Thats what I love about cars, the joy of machine and the fact it brings people together. Quite like the idea of the K type on the brake disc, I would never have thought of that, you could always drill a small hole into the friction material of the brake pad and force the tip of the thermo in there? I'd sat stick with the car, i've always quite liked the idea of taking a car and evolving it continously which is what you've been doing and thats always appealed to the engineer in me. You've made something unique and its truly yours, i like that. Keep going with it buddy and next time get some on track footage
  3. Keep coming back here to check for updates, what you been up to man?
  4. Out of curiosity, can anyone post up the differences in PCB versions? Myself & friend have literally just bought the S7+ PNP boards and mine is an older revision to his. Just wanted to know what the differences are please.
  5. Was this resolved? Can you share the recommended settings please, I'm about to install my plug & play with the AIM MXS and any help to ease the frustrations now would be greatly appreciated
  6. Thanks again Adam, that pin out seems right to me, its just the manual supplied with my S7+ plug in shows the older style pin outs. The CAN wiring is all I need to know, thank you Much appreciated Andrew
  7. Thanks for that Adam, I'll see if we have a suitable crimp tool here at work, I’ll be surprised if we don't have one. Having reviewed the literature that arrived with my S7+ ECU I was getting a little bit spooked by the pinouts at the back of the manual until I realised there for the earlier cars, The manual I have received is for the S6-S8 car's but the pinouts are definitely for the earlier style connectors, might be worth amending that in future? I have managed to find the pinouts I need online for a G4 ECU assuming there the same? I need to check the help files to see if the info I needs is there? Al`so I can’t find the pinouts for the 5pin CAN1&2 connectors and would like to wire in my AIM sports dash and lambda to CAN when I upgrade the Innovate, are these in the help files too? Would appreciate it if you could post them up. Again, many thanks for the help
  8. Any chance of sharing the connector series for the expansion connectors? I'd rather wire them in with tefzel and avoid the need for splices etc.
  9. Excellent, just what I wanted hear. Thankfully when I made the engine loom I provisioned for this very eventuality & direct fire ignition so have the extra cables needed ;-)
  10. Morning, I've just taken full advantage of the huge savings on the P&P RX7 ECU offer running this month, big thanks for that. I'm just in the process of ordering some other goodies to make the most of the new set up i.e. Injector dynamic injectors and some pressure sensors etc. I wanted to know if I was able to upgrade the trigger wheel from the stock 12-1 wheel to a kit like one of these:- http://fullfunctioneng.com/?product_cat=fd-trigger-kits Ideally the Hall effect set up which uses a 36-1 wheel so a much greater resolution. Does the P&P ECU allow this change or not? The guidance from FFE suggests selecting the LINK config for the RX8 trigger. TIA
  11. Thanks for the prompt response Scott, much appreciated. OK so just to make sure I've got this right. There are pins labelled “Ground” these should all be connected to earth points on the car. “shield/Gnd” is self-explanatory. “Gnd out” are used for the sensor grounds only? I know these are the basics but I hate to assume anything. I'm glad I don’t need a separate ISC valve that will make the inlet fabrication and final install much neater not to mention saving me some money I’ll look into the wiring diagrams to see if I can find the pin outs for the CAN bus, that would make it really simple. I'm tempted to implement the fuel pump speed control although slightly apprehensive as its all new to me, I have managed to acquire some fuel pump control modules from a Range Rover which appear to be suitable and being OEM they should be reasonably robust. When I make a start with the wiring and ECU config & calibration I'm sure I ‘ll be posting more frequently and with some more pictures as we all like pictures Thanks again for your help.
  12. Hey David, Just read through this thread, I admire your incremental approach to tuning your car. I'll take away the use of dropbox for managing logs from the comfort of my arm chair when my project is running. Keep the updates coming
  13. Hello, I'm Andrew from the UK, I'm new to the Link G4+ platform which is light years ahead of my previous standalone EMS so I have high hopes for this set up. I'am just starting to plan out the wiring & sensor provisions for my project, a VW R32 VR6 turbo powered Audi S4 quattro avant, primarily as a street/strip/toy build aiming to achieve 700hp with the current set up, pic attached. I've recently purchased a G4+Thunder wire in ECU and looking over the pin outs I have a few questions. 1. There are various ground pins on each connector, is there a best practice approach to allocating these? 2. I intend to use a single E-throttle on my engine, is there any added advantage to using a ISC valve in addition to the DBW or will the DBW control the idle well enough? 3. Is there any point wiring in the wheel speeds on 4WD car for traction control purposes (variable centre differential)? Another feature that has me thinking is the fuel pump speed control, have any of you used this on a turbo engine with a returnless system with any success? Does this strategy target a static fuel pressure and how reactive is this setup? Is it advisable to use this strategy with multiple staged fuel pumps in a returnless speed controlled manner? I'm sure I will think of many more questions as I progress into the wiring & calibration part of my project (still at the fabrication stage) but some of the control aspects have a knock on effect on what I need to provision in my fabrications so any help is much appreciated. Andy
