  1. Thank you CamB! Exactly what I needed... I did take a look through the Help file but I was looking in the wrong places... This is the second time I have been pointed to it!!! Its great that Link put everything in the one place. Thanks again!
  2. Hi All, I am chasing the wiring diagram/pin-out configuration for the 4bar or 7bar VIPEC external MAP Sensors pictured on this page: http://www.vi-pec.com/accessories/sensors If anyone could help me out that would be legendary. Extensive searching has not found me any information. I presume its supposed to be a direct swap-in for a MAF plug on a particular model of car but we are looking to re-purpose it and it doesn't fit ours. It is a 7-pin connector. Cheers.
  3. Thanks for the responses guys. @adturb - Thanks for the info. I did find not long back that spoolinup sell the pins and plugs which was very exciting (considering you cant get them via Digikey/Mouser anymore). Nice to hear that re-locating the pins in the plugs isnt too big of a deal. With that said, I dont know where I sit with the idea of waiting 3-4weeks for shipping! I have yet to properly inspect the DI 1 location, but when I had a quick look early this week it seemed that there was actually a wire in that position. If that is the case, I assume they used the same loom at the factory and just didnt terminate that wire on the engine side. Hope to have a good look over the weekend. @Brad Burnett - Great suggestion. Re-locating one of the I/C Switch inputs sounds like a better option than the clutch switch. Thanks for the idea. Im basically trying to keep my "stock loom impact" to a minimum. Changing one of the IC Spray switches shouldn't stop anything working if a factory ECU goes back in provided I disconnected the Ethanol sensor beforehand.
  4. Hi Guys, I believe I have read over everything and know the answer to this already, but I would like to confirm it before I go ahead. Am I correct in my understanding that the two Digital Inputs available on the Expansion Loom ports of the G4+ plugin are both unable to read an Ethanol Content Sensor?? It says on your help file that only Digital Inputs 1-8 are capable of this but all of these are taken up/occupied by the factory harness and not available on the expansion loom. From what I have gathered, I need to splice the ethanol content sensor into one of the connections on my factory harness that relates to one of those 8 digital inputs (probably my clutch switch at this point unless there is a wire for the Cam Angle Sensor that doesn't exist on DI 1). Is this correct? Just making sure there is absolute necessity before I go snipping factory loom wires. Just wanted to make sure there wasn't any tricks for "virtualising" the digital inputs so they went to a different channel (so that I could for example assign my physical Digital Input 9/10 to the ECUs Digital Input 1 (which is not used because I dont have MIVEC). Cheers.
  5. Thanks for the quick reply and also the concern for procedure Adamw! Great news to hear its probably a simple fix. I could hear it triggering the fuel pump and the dash lights were all acting as expected so I did not really expect it to be a faulty ECU. I will swap my connector into CAN2 and be on my way hopefully. It would probably be well worth sticking this information into the CAN Information page for the various ECUs that its relevant to. I have not seen it written anywhere (I am more aware than most that its not possible to document everything (programming background) so I am definitely not judging!). As far as my mates map goes, I am using that purely for reference. He has far bigger injectors than me so there was going to be some differences from day 1. We just have similar configurations otherwise and both run E85 so having a reference for cold start enrichment and the like makes life a little easier. Many thanks once again.
  6. Semi-hijacking this thread here hoping someone can shed some light on this issue from my own perspective and possibly clear it up for others in the future. I just installed my EvoLink9 G4+ Plugin unit tonight (*girly screams of excitement*) and found it didn't want to talk to my laptop via the USB connection. It showed up in device manager with no issue but PCLink didn't want to talk to it. Digging around the forums, I have noted a number of places that state that you cant use the CAN1/RS232 expansion port (or even have it connected) AND the USB Tuning cable at the same time. Some of the posts were quite old but is this still a known and consistent issue across some of the ECUs? I have a CAN cable running off CAN1 to pick up a Link CAN Lambda sensor. It was late in the day so I have not fully diagnosed it yet. Just thought I would ask the question. Variables: - Using the supplied USB Tuning cables and also purchased genuine CAN cables (#CANPCB and #CANDASH) - I also have an XS Loom (#XSL) connected for flex fuel and IAT. - Win 10 and Newest release of PCLink (pulled a map out of a mates EvoLink4-8 unit a few days prior) Cheers!
