Monsoon light flashing

The green light

Recommended Posts

Hi guys I have a monsoon g4+ installed in my jet boat, running a ba falcon motor.

After a few to many beers over the holidays I stupidly connected the battery up the wrong way, this cooked the main wire from the alternator to the power supply witch I have replaced but now I have noticed the light on the ecu flashing, the sequence seems to be 4 long 3 short, can anyone explain this? I dont recall it flashing previously and I'd just like to double check before putting the boat back in the water.

Thanks in advance.

Rick.

Code 43 is AN Temp 1 at 5V.  This input would usually be the coolant temp sensor or the air temp sensor (if fitted).  This error indicates either the sensor is dead (open circuit) or one of the wires/connections to the sensor is bad.

Given it is a boat, check for corrosion at the connections first (and possibly the sensor ground splice).  You can measure the resistance of the sensor with a multimeter to confirm it is ok - typically 2000-3000ohms at room temp would suggest it is ok.
