ykchong4
Thanks for reply. i'm found that the CAM sensor use 5V power supply only with stock ECU, should i change it to IGN Switch +12V when use with the Links ECU?
Adamw
Keep it powered by 5V if that is what it is designed for.
ykchong4
i'm found that links G4x can't pickup any rpm from the crank sensor. the crank signal voltage just too weak and the Pull Up like not function at all. what problem could be? Starting map.pclx this crank sensor got two wires one connect to signal ground the another wire connect to G4x trigger1
Adamw
Your crank sensor appears to be a reluctor. Change trigger 1 type to reluctor and it should be ok.

ykchong4
engine still can't start with this trigger setup, look like firing order problem but follow the repair manual it should correct 1-3-4-2, pls help me check, thanks Starting map.pclx
Adamw
It looks like you havent set the base timing. You need to connect a timing light and adjust the trigger offset until the timing marks match the commanded timing.
ykchong4
The engine can start now by setting trigger offset to 279 which copy from the Audi TT starting map, which use exactly same timing style 60-2. But don't why timing light can't pickup the signal, can't calibrate the timing offset, the timing light definitely working which tested on other car. The timing light just blink randomly which irregular interval.
Adamw
What is the ignition system and how is the timing light connected?
ykchong4
use Direct spark with VW short coil dwell 2.3ms. we used timing light by clamp on the coil wire no success, after that we remove the cop and add an old spark plug lead between the coil and spark plug but still not success. the engine can start and idle properly
Adamw
Hmmm, well if its running there must be a spark. If your timing light can not detect the spark then you will have to try another.
ykchong4
somehow the timing light working after done the basic tuned, suspect it was due to timing light grounding not good.
