Simon Kribstock
Recently converted from coil pack to coil on plug. Wanted to confirm my changes to the ignition settings. I've modified my dwell control table to correlate with new coils. Do I change "ignition mode" from wasted spark to direct ignition? Should I re-calibrate my ignition delay? Open my spark plug gap? Had it closed down to .024" from .030" while using the wasted spark set up.

If the coils are wired individually to Ign 1/2/3/4/ then it needs to be set to direct spark. If the coils are wired in pairs to just Ign 1&2 then it will need to stay in wasted spark mode. 5 hours ago, Simon Kribstock said: Should I re-calibrate my ignition delay? Yes you should at least re-check it. Will likely not need any adjustment. 5 hours ago, Simon Kribstock said: Open my spark plug gap? Simon Kribstock
Any ideas why I would be getting a hard ignition misfire at around 1 bar of boost? Ran fine up to 1.3 bar with the coil pack ignition 3.56ms misfire, new coils and boots.llg
Adamw
Not really enough info. What coils did you replace and what did you replace them with? Are the new coils known to have more energy than what you had?
