SeanEVO5
I am wanting to add Digital Input 6 to a 2nd CAN stream. I have created the new stream/frame, but where do l find the information about where the parameter (Digital Input 6) starts, stops and it length so l can completed the setup? Adamw
You can place it anywhere you like in the frame, you just need to match what the device at the other end can work with. A DI only has two states - on or off, so it only needs to be 1 bit wide, although you can make it as wide as you like.
SeanEVO5a
Thanks, but what are the setting when adding the parameter to the stream e.g. start position?
Adamw
You need to set up the stream to match the device you are sending the data to. What are you trying to do?
SeanEVO5a
i am trying to see the digital input change on my powertune digital dash
Adamw
We will need to see the set up in the dash to match. Can you give us a photo or screenshot of the options you have in the CAN setup on the dash.
SeanEVO5
I have spoken to PowerTune and the CAN setup is correct for the dash, but what we found is the CAN messages from the ECU are not as expected. Below is a dump of the messages. My stream is only 1 frame, but we still multiple frames and when l toggle the digital input there is no change. can0 44C [8] 00 00 00 00 66 00 63 00 can0 44C [8] 01 00 02 04 00 00 00 00 can0 44C [8] 02 00 00 00 00 00 3D 00 can0 44C [8] 03 00 3E 00 37 05 00 00 can0 44C [8] 04 00 00 00 00 00 E8 03 can0 44C [8] 05 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 can0 44C [8] 06 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 can0 44C [8] 07 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 can0 44C [8] 08 00 3E 00 02 00 00 00 can0 44C [8] 09 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 can0 44C [8] 0A 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 can0 44C [8] 0B 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 can0 44C [8] 0C 00 00 00 00 00 00
Adamw
Attach your tune, that dump you are showing above is the generic dash stream as it has the 01/02/03/04 etc down the first column.
SeanEVO5
My Tune file has been attached SB-EVO.pclx
Adamw
Ok, the main problem is you have it set to "transmit user stream 1", but your DI6 is on user stream 2. And your user stream 2 is also set up incorrectly. Try this one, it should be received at the dash as "Analog 0". SB-EVO V1.1.pclx

Adamw
I dont see any info about digital inputs on powertunes website. I was going off this doc which only shows Analog, turbo speed and fuel level: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0036/0615/1235/files/Custom_stream_setup_LINK.pdf?v=1620629266 If you have any info from them about the frame number, bytes/bits for a digital input then it should be easy.
