7ishnz Posted October 25, 2021 Report Share Posted October 25, 2021 I am considering buying a gen 1 Ford coyote V8 for a project, but I'm not sure about engine control. I don't think the Ford performance pack is really the answer. Has anyone used the thunder ecu sucessfully on the Ford modular coyote quadcam engine? Most of the articles I have seen say the cam phasing system Ford use is not easily used by aftermarket ecus, most people are using fixed cam timing. Adamw Posted October 25, 2021 Report Share Posted October 25, 2021 I dont think there is anything too unusual with the Gen 1. On the Gen 2 the intake cams can both advance and retard from the home position so has a few set up quirks but I think Gen 1 is advance only. We support both Gen 1 & 2.
