Sabry
Hi guys, I got a can keypad for a customer running on an Extreme G4+ without realizing it is not compatible. We have a Razor PDM to setup too. Is there any possibility to get the keypad to communicate with the G4+ extreme as well? Need a bit of help configuring and setting up also please. The planned setup is: Key Pad: 1. Starter Motor (momentary) 2. Parking/ Head Light (Increment switch) 3. Hi Beam (On/Off) 4. Fuel Pump Overide (On/off) 5. Fan Overide (On/off) 6. Turn signal Left (On/off) 7. Turn Signal Right (On/off) 8. Launch Control (On/off) (need input to ecu) 9. Antilag (On/off) (need input to ecu) 10. Boost switch (On/off) (need input to ecu) 11. Exhaust Valve Open (Momentary) 12. Exhaust Valve Closed (Momentary) PDM: High Power Outputs: 1. EFI Relay (On with ignition switch) 2. Fuel Pump (On with ecu control) 3. Fan 1 (On with ecu control) 4. Starter Motor (Key pad controlled) Lower Power outputs: 1. 2. Bridged A/C Fan + A/C Compressor (Direct power supply) 3. Parking/ Headlight (to switch on a relay) 4. Hi Beam (to switch on a relay) 5. Signal Left (Direct power supply) 6. Signal Right (Direct power supply) 7. Exhaust Open (to switch on a relay) 8. Exhaust Closed (to switch on a relay) Anyones assistance or guidance would be greatly appreciated. First time working with a PDM
Adamw
Yeah all of that should be possible. Attach your ecu map and PDM config and I can set up a couple of examples to get you started.
Sabry
Thank you Adam, For some reason after i configure a file using PDM Link when i save it, it doesn't get saved. When i open the file it defaults back to the startup file i used. So the PDM config file is just a generic file that came as a preset. Adamw
Check you are using the latest PDMLink 1.2.72. Your file and included layout appears to load up ok for me.
Sabry
Yes i am using 1.2.72. When i open up my saved file it opens up as the startup file i used which was the "CAN Aux, Fuel Pump, Headlights.pdmc" I have not been able to successfully save a config file that i modify. Is it because i am not uploading to the PDM after saving? Edited October 6, 2022 by Sabry
Adamw
Try these, done in a bit of a rush so may not have it all correct yet. Also, I found a bug in labelling the keypad buttons so button 10/11/12 inherit some of button 1 label for some reason and cant be changed. So the exhaust valve control function may look a bit confusing since they are using "starter button count" Sacha V2.pdmc Sacha V2.pclr

Sabry
Adam, I seem to have an issue with the PDMLink software. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but the same issue is there. I cant see any of the things you have updated.
Sabry
When i setup can channel 3 to keypad counts the PDM disconnected and now just shows unplugged on the PDMLink. It wont connect at all now and the lights have changed to what's on the picture.
Adamw
Do the LEDs do the dance sequence when you plug it in? 17 hours ago, Sabry said: I seem to have an issue with the PDMLink software. Sabry
No the startup dance sequence doesn’t happen anymore. Goes straight to the picture I sent you. The laptop doesn’t detect cable being plugged in also like it normally did
Sabry
Hi Adam, Would you happen to have any update?
Adamw
Im still not sure about the reason for the config missing all the settings - however that one is easily fixable, I can do another one from scratch if I need too. But your other problem with the symptom of no longer doing the light dance on power-up and the no windows detection of the USB is the bigger one - I have just had confirmation from engineering that this would mean the PDM has "bricked" itself. No one really understands why or how yet, but it appears it has somehow messed up the bootloader. So my deepest apologies that you have had such a poor introductory experience with this PDM so far, its not nice when it goes that way and there is not much I can do to help. Can you please contact [email protected] to arrange to get it replaced or fixed. I will update this thread when I hear any news from engineering if they can work out what has happened to that config. You can PM me on the forum here if you need to for anything related.
