ozyvr4
Hi , I have been asked to help wire a Mazda BP1800 engine with the Link plug n play ecu for a coil on plug system. I noticed that the distributor has 2 signals going to ecu ( have not trigger scoped ) so I suspect it has the right signal . I found the 4 ignition output wires from the pin out and , wanting to make sure there is not a problem to wiring it as a direct spark system. I know I'll have to change the ignition mode and the dwell table. Also trying to find the correct firing order to use and ther seems to be a couple variations but that's for the wasted spark setup . Any advice would be great.
Adamw
Yeah the trigger should be capable of direct spark. For wiring you wire them in cyl order, not firing order, so cyl 1 coil connected to Ign 1, cyl 2 coil connected to Ign 2, etc.
ozyvr4
Awesome Yes i have wired in cylinder order , just after firing for configuration setup. I just wanting to make it would work as the last time I was asked was an evo 1-3 ecu and it had hardware connected to 1 of the outputs . The coils are already wired and now to program ecu before start up. Thanks
Adamw
Assuming you are talking about an MX5 plug-in? If so the ign drives 1-4 can all be used for Ign.

ozyvr4
Do I just use the preset mazda trigger setup? All I have changed in the software is to direct fire from distributor at the moment.
Adamw
Yeah that should be it. You may have to change offset by 360.
