David Thomas1436215403
Hi, I did a firmware upgrade on my ecu about a year ago, didn't go well so just closed the garage on it. Decided to give it another try, is anyone on here able to take a look at the old g3 data file and compare it to the g4 one I tried doing. Let me know where I've gone wrong? Car is a 1990 mr2 turbo, was a good spec when built a long time ago. It was working OK on g3 but has been dead ever since the firmware upgrade. Have tried logging data but it shows zero rpm when cranking, and doesn't seem to send any ignition signals. Thanks in advance for any help! David Thomas1436215403
This is the file currently on the ecu. For some reason i can't get my very old laptop to start up, so can't get the data file off that at the moment. Will add the G3 file as soon as I can05april23.pcl Above was how the ecu was hard wired years ago. For some reason I now show IAT at -50deg, ECT at -50deg plus other things which seem wrong. As far as I can see I changed the inputs accordingly but obviously have gone wrong somewhere This is the ecu installed. And a picture of the engine im trying to get to run! Adamw
Below is what I have spotted without much to work from. If these dont solve your problem I will need a copy of the G3 map or at least a log of a cranking attempt. AN Temp 1 & 2 need the fault settings set appropriately, 0.05 for low and 4.95 for high is normal. Spark edge needs to be set to falling. Change trigger settings in blue. Trigger 2 sync mode needs to be cam pulse 1X, I would drop the filters to level 2 and the offset at exactly 0 is a bit suspicious, if that's what the G3 used then it should get you started but I would check that with a timing light to make sure it is right once running. David Thomas1436215403
Great thanks. I'll give the above a go and get back to you
David Thomas1436215403
Quick update, I altered the settings as you stated. The car now starts. Doesn't idle great but going to get a timing light and check that later. 12 month old fuel may not helping either! Many thanks for your help so far, I'm sure I'll be asking a few more questions as I get it more to where I want it to be
