craig903
Hi, I'm after some advice on the location of a fuel temp sensor. I'm going to be using the 'Modelled' fuel mode so I have fitted a pressure sensor on the fuel rail via a braided hose to protect the sensor. Without thinking I've fitted a Bosch combination sensor with an inbuilt temperature sensor and built my new loom to suite. It's now sunk in that I'm going to be getting inaccurate fuel temperature readings because the sensor isn't in the fuel flow. The sensor is located to the left of the engine sort of in front of the suspension tower so its away from a heat source. Would this be sufficient? The car isn't anything crazy and it will be 300-400HP 2LTR 4 cyl 16V. Thanks
Hodgdon Extreme
I think you're right - you can't count on that location to provide you good temperature feedback.
Adamw
The bosch combo sensors are reliable mounted direct in the rail if it can be moved. Otherwise it is probably still going to be better than having no fuel temp sensor (ecu assumes a constant 20°C in that case).
