henpett
Hi! I have recently got my 2000 nb with a swapped in 1.8vvt out of a nbfl working and running, altough i seem to be having issues with the alternator, it might be the battery that is toast but im not sure, so thought to ask here aswell, i am going to change the battery when i can. But when i have had the battery on the charger and put it in the car to start and run it seems to be hovering around 11.5 volts, ill check the battery and see with a new one. But if anyone else has had this problem let me know what you did to fix it. I have a backup alternator for the worst case senario where that is whats toast
Vaughan
can you attach a log and a copy of your tune please. I assume you are using the engine loom and alternator from the VVT motor, did you re-pin the engine loom to body loom plug to suit the VVT loom? (I have done this swap including the wiring on a friend's pre facelift NB)
henpett
Hi, ive not repinned much except a couple of the connectors in the x-16 connector under the dash. Everything except the engine loom is original nb, so that might be a part of the problem. Ill attach a log and a tune as soon as im home. Vaughan
It should be the Grey wire with red stripe doing all of the alternator control. Goes from the ECU through the big blue plug into the body loom and all the way to the alternator.

henpett
Got it resolved, on my old ecu there is a cable connected in with the abs ecu. I had to splice some wires and got it sorted, now the alternator works and fan works! Vaughan
