jesuslifts Posted October 4, 2023 Report Share Posted October 4, 2023 Hi all, I am currently have a 2g dsm with an Evo 8 link engine management ECU. I am getting a miss fire and I want to pull up my engine codes to diagnose. The problem is I called the tuner for a walkthrough and he mentioned that the car was tuned on the previous software update and he wasn't sure if hooking up my laptop with the new software would update it and lose the tune. Any insight into this? Am I okay to just hook it up or is there an auto update feature to disable ect? Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Vaughan Posted October 4, 2023 Report Share Posted October 4, 2023 Shouldn't be any issues with connecting to an ECU running older firmware with a newer PCLink. Note that the Gearshift settings will be locked and hidden if yur firmware is older than 6.21 and you are using a PCLink newer than 6.21.
