Richo
Hi forum I have a boat with a 3.8 V6 Series 2 (VS) commodore motor in it. Been running a link G4 mint for the last 8 years. Got to boat ramp, threw boat in, turned over, but sounded like it wasn't even trying to fire (spark) Walbro fuel pump was priming etc as per usual. Gave it multiple attempts turning over, but now nothing. Have a light that shows power to ecu which is now not illuminated. No blown fuses. Is there an internal fuse inside the G4 unit? I'm guessing the ecu has just sucked the kumura. Currently No power, no fuel pump priming, no starter motor engaging. Everything else, (trim control, stereo etc) working as per. Any suggestions, advice etc will be appreciated. Just got to the Bach we rented for the long weekend. Insert sad face here. Cheers At Lake Rotoiti (Rotorua)
Adamw
In general if any aux devices are powered up but the ecu is not then the aux devices would be on all the time. In other words, if the ecu had died then I would expect your fuel pump to be running full time any time the ignition is on. The fact it is not suggests there is no power to the fuel pump relay either. The ECU also has nothing to do with the starter motor so it sounds like you have a main power supply issue somewhere.
